Speculation: Roster Building Thread LXXXVI: Spring into action (GMJG outta hibernation?)

Coming off this loss I'm still very excited for the future, especially next season. With the age and lack of experience of this group we are bound to have ups and downs.
1/22- blew 2 goal lead and lost in SH to Pitt
1/24- blew 1 goal lead and lost last two mins to Pitt
1/26- blew 1 goal lead in 2nd and lost to Buf
1/30- blew 1 goal lead in 3rd and awful, infamous OT goal to Pitt
2/12- lost 1-0 but gave up meh goal to Bos
3/15- had 1 goal lead for a bit in the 3rd lost in OT to Phi
3/19- blew 1 goal lead with two lapses in the 3rd to Was
3/27- dumb goal with 4 mins left to Phi

I think we got 3 or 4 points out of those games where we could have had 16. Not expecting to win them all but too many mental lapses and breakdowns late in the game. The positive is next year we will theoretically be more talented and experienced. Give this team a full schedule against the entire NHL and I think we are definitely in the playoffs.

Laf, Kakko, Chytil, Miller another year of experience
VK in the lineup

It’s pretty clear with a Mika and panarin as their usual selves we’d be a playoff team. But we went 15 games in a 56 game sprint without Mika doing anything

we lost panarin for 10 games to I still don’t even know why

and then Shesterkin misses 10 as well.

just not in the cards this year. I’m tempted to bring the same exact team back next year with the additions of kravtsov and lundkvist

If Howden is on this team next year there will be a revolt.

Which is really exactly what we should do. Unless an obvious deal presents itself, I see no reason that shouldn’t be what happens. I would maybe look at a steady LHD in his mid-late 20s, otherwise I’d leave everything alone and look for moves at next TDL depending on how things look.
 
I actually think the Lemieux trade is to make room for Barron, not Kravtsov.
 
feels like lemmy wanted out as much as we needed to move him. i saw this coming from a mile away as far as the discontentment of lemmy.
