This is their remaining schedule:

Vs NYI - 2
Vs WSH - 2
Vs Pitt- 2
Vs NYR- 2
Vs NJD - 2
Vs BUF- 5(!)
Ahh I thought that had 4-5 left with the Pens. Mia Culpa.
There’s still a lot of 4 pt swings with the games left. Having those 2 extra games left for the bruins is big as well

It's been a pipe dream.

They have 7 games remaining vs Buffalo and NJ. NJ has given them trouble, but this will be the post deadline, last week of the season Devils.

We have a better shot at the Isles going on a skid and catching them.

FWIW: Even if Boston drops 8 points, we have to end the season with a 13-game winning streak. The franchise record is 10 (1973)

From the Bruins board. This is depressing.

Those numbers aren't correct. They are assuming we'll need 1 more point than them to beat them, but that isn't likely. We have 18 regulation wins and they have 16. The odds are very good that if we end up tied on points at the end of the season, we'll still have more RW, and therefore hold the tie-breaker.

Beyond that, our last 2 games are against them. If we win both in regulation, that negates the 2 games in hand they have. So we just need to make up 4 points over the next 11 games to control our own destiny.

Yes, it is true that Kreider is going through one of the worst slumps of his career, and we know that he has always been the definition of a streaky goal scorer.

But, I would bet that there is something else going on here, something that we, as fans, are just not privy to. I wouldn't doubt that he is suffering from some kind of physical issue. He just doesn't look right out there, he looks pained in a way beyond that of a player who is experiencing a loss of confidence. I would bet, that if this is the case, it is not a knee injury but upper body, groin, etc.

Whatever it is, and if it is truly the case, at this critical time of the year, he is, like most hockey players, just gutting it out and playing. It is not serious enough for him to sit it out but his play is has fallen off markedly.

I would tend to give him the benefit of the doubt here. Perhaps we will only find out at breakup day or a few days later when he learn of all the banged up players needing surgery or a serious recovery period.

There might be some truth to this. I recall there was something a couple of weeks ago when he had a difficult time getting to the bench. Then a maintenance day recently...

But by that time our core wingers will hopefully be far more capable of pulling up a 2nd line center. So we may not need him anymore.
The core wingers are Lafreniere, Kakko and more than likely Kravstov. I do not see them getting traded. Buch should be able to but you would need to sign him now.

I think we need to go 11-3. And also must win the last 2 games in Boston during regulation. It is not an easy task. Impossible? No. But very difficult. Bring it on

we just need to take care of our business and keep winning...if we fall shorts thats fine. we can't control other teams.

I just want to get to those games with a chance to get in. Even if we are 2 points back, winning both in regulation puts the pressure on them, because they'll have to get at least 3 points in their final 2 games to finish ahead of us.

To be honest with you I don't think the Rangers would be able to win both in regulation against the more experienced and better coached Bruins team.

I like Kreider on the 4th line he looks pissed off and plays hard. Moving forward he can be that energy sparkplug guy on the 3rd and 4th lines.

@Edge mentioned this before the season started. The management team wanted the young players to play meaningful games down the stretch. Whether that means playing in the playoffs or now, it doesn't matter. The next 14 games will be played like playoff games for this team.
I would say that already they are in a situation where every game is a playoff game and each and every shift counts.

At least 2/4 were said. At least.
Was that when the players were rebelling on Quinn and tuning him out? Which directly led to the players now running the show. I heard that Quinn has no more input into the lineups or shift changes.

im not sure what that addresses from my comment?

The type of physicality the Rangers laid on the Devils the game before produced its benefits last night. The Rangers definitely view this as a playoff push.

BTW felt bad seeing Jack Hughes' face last night. I won't doubt for a second that the experience our prospects are getting now is some much more valuable for their overall development than whatever extra meanigless minutes Hughes or Stutzle are getting.
