Call me an el pollo loco, but I want Gorton to call the other 30 GMs to see who wants to take Kreider's contract and what kind of asset/s we can get for Strome. Both guys are playing so well lately and I'm sure playoff contenders would be willing to trade some really nice assets for them. Plus, we'd free up some cap space to re-sign our RFAs like Buch, Igor, Chytil, Lindgren and Gauthier (but not Howden) and have some maneuverability to acquire big time players (like Jack Eichel, if it tickles our fancy) who can help us next year.

In two or three years this post will have actually aged well, until then you will get flogged for it.

Kreider isn’t getting traded. Move on from that one.

Yes, but Buffalo would not.

Regarding the prospects, it would not be Reunanen or Jones. It would be Robertson/Schneider/Lundkvist.

There are many reasons that I believe that once you step out of the vacuum, a deal for Eichel is not in the long-term best interest of this organization.

I tend to agree. Not so much personnel wise, but salary wise. Eichel's earning what? 10M per? Look how much we're paying Panarin, Trouba and Kreider. Laf, Igor, Fox, Kakko, K'Andre, etc. are bound to get big money down the road. And then add Eichel on top of that...

Let's let Chytil finish the season before we pull the trigger.

I want to see more of this kid. He's showing flashes of 1C potential.

Last thing we want to do is deal him and have him end up almost as good as Eichel but cheaper and younger. Even if he turns into a 65 point 2 way center, throwing in Buch, a good prospect and a first makes that a pretty bad deal for the Rangers.

Yeah I think just about everyone would do Chytil, Strome, Zac Jones and a first for Eichel.

That is like Four 1st round picks for Eichel if one assumes Buch would return at least a 1st if traded for futures.

I'll add that if we are tossing a good defensive prospect into a trade, I'd trade Jones well before Robertson, Schneider, or Lundkvist.

He's got a lot of talent, but there are a lot more question marks and barriers in between him and the NHL than the other three.

And yes, we have a huge luxury of defensive prospects, but they need to hurry up and get here I'm tired of seeing Hajek, Johnson, and Smith every game.

I'd agree but I think size is a huge barrier for Lundy as well. Otherwise he'd be head and shoulders ahead of the rest.

You severely underrate just how good Schneider is. Schneider is coming to camp to battle Lundkvist for a starting spot, providing one of them is not traded. Don't be too surprised if he either wins or has a starting spot at some point during next year.

I wouldn’t honestly. Chytil + for Eichel is not going to age well at all within the structure of this team

Yeah, I'd imagine Schneider is rated a hair higher than Robertson.

Lundkvist has the highest ceiling of the bunch.
