I’m excited to read the exposé in about 12 months to find out what really happened behind the scenes with DeAngelo

He’s so toxic that even AHL teams want nothing to do with him

Miller may be a unique package but his play over the past few weeks has me questioning if he has chiseled his name permanently into the unmoveable category.

Miller is still as likely yo turn into Del Zotto as he is to turn into a franchise-defenseman for this team. It's early. And I am not worried. Let's hope he takes that next step the way Fox did.

Jeff should be calling Dorion as much as possible. That Murray trade to take on that much salary on a terrible goalie and give up a 2nd round pick then the Stepan trade to take on that much cap on a terrible player and give up a second round pick. They still can't evaluate NHL talent worth shit.

This news of four more years of flat cap has to make the trade for eichel even less likely. We're better letting our wingers carry the lines and trying to find competent two way centers. Maybe offload Mika for a good C prospect if there is one available.

we should steal their amateur scouting staff.

Panarin Larkin Kakko
Lafreniere Chytil Buchnevich
Kreider Krebs Kravtsov

Lindgren Fox
Miller Trouba
Robertson Schneider
Hajek B.Smith
Reunanen

That's a tantalizing squad for a new head coach.

A team/core that can be together for the next 5+ years IMO

sub buchnevich for someone who could win a race and a puckbattle and I don’t hate this at all.

I’d just pass on Larkin unless the cost was entirely reasonable, which I doubt it would be.

He’s not a 1C that you win a cup with. He’d be a very solid 2C but that’s not how he’s going to want to get paid. He has a ton of miles on him already as well and even though he’s relatively young I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already past his scoring peak.

Kind of reminds me of a guy like Matt Duchene in that people can talk themselves into him being a 1C due to great skating and some decent numbers but ultimately he’s never worth the cost (be it in trade value or contract price).

2021 1st, Kravstov, Schneider, Jones, Pajuniemi, Wall are all assets that we can trade from a position of strength and not have to re-tool an area in the organization.

Chytil, Lundkvist, Robertson, and even Buchnevich are guys I would not want to trade

Buch on a 4 year deal is quickly becoming the type of winger that you have on a contending team. He has taken a massive stride the last 1.5 years. Almost a Hayes-like trajectory in two way ability.

My concerns still remain with Buch... I dont trust him for Playoff type Hockey and/or to finish..

He has improved greatly as a 2way winger and that should help his value greatly imo

see above. I dont think he will be good in the playoffs. Hopefully he will prove me wrong but he's still weak and a bad finisher. We need to build the team for success in the post season. We lived through the pain of our 'top players' underperforming in the playoffs.

IMO Schneider is nearly untouchable. It would take A LOT for JD/Gorton to move him. JD is looking for big mobile d-men... Schneider is that with an edge.

Bettman.

The players are going to owe the owners a lot of money. It will take years to pay it back and 'even-out' the 50/50 revenue split. Cap will be at or around 81M for the foreseeable future. Even if Revenue gets back to normal, Escrow will still be a fat chunk of players salary.

If you think he's Duchene... sure.

I think he can be Brayden Point. IMO Style and skill brings him closer to Point

Depends. Overpaying and making a worthwhile trade are not mutually exclusive.

Larkin I like, yet I'd rather them find another Chytil like player, maybe he ends up very good and cheap for the next couple years and becomes part of a core and eventually more expensive, or he ends up not that good and cheap and they can move on from him.

Glass, Newhook, Zegras, Krebs, Tomasino, McMichael, probably some others I don't even know about, but they should.

Same division... but Zibs @ 50% might be enticing enough.

Hopefully one of these teams goes 'all-out' for a cup. Vegas and/or Washington can make sense. We can re-create a Forsberg for Erat 2.0.

Like Strome, step-in immediately or Lundkvist step in immediately?

A young topline 2 way center is what we should trade Lundkvist for... if he's ever to be moved. Lundkvist and a 1st is a nice return for a rebuilding team.

Thinking more along the lines of Lundvist.

But it's just the PC police!

It's almost as if there's a reason teams don't want a player who produced 53 points in 68 games from the back end

It's almost as if it goes beyond the stupid tweets

These are the ups and downs we should expect from him though.

He is going to be a kid that's easy to gush over when he's on his game, and easy to raise an eyebrow about when he's off.
