Cally was a warrior when he was with us. Those were exciting times. Welcome back Ryan!
Hes on the 4th line and PKs. He's the only guy on the team that plays his role day-in, day-out. I think he'd be better at wing tbh.. Why are we complaining about our 4th line? It's not the reason we're losing gamesFor all the bitching about howden in here, lets be serious and realize that he is the least of the issues with this team right now. We all are frustrated with him and the time he gets, but when your 3rd string goalie is starting a game for the first time in years and you need to rely on him to keep you in the game rather than coming out with fire and effort you have much bigger issues than Brett Howden...
Yeah, I am a little late to the game on this issue.Larkin isn’t getting moved so it’s not an option
Welcome back Cally!
Hope Valiquette is ok. I would hate to lose the guy. I like what he brings to the table.
Say we end up with a #8-10 1st round pick.
Do you draft Johnson or Raty, assuming they are there...
or would you trade that pick with one of Buch/Kravtsov/Strome for Larkin?
Eh, that feels kinda weak to me. And I say that as someone who thinks Howden doesn't have much of a long-term future here.
Six guys are mentioned. Three of them have less time on the PK than him (Kreider only about 1/3 the time). Rooney is more or less on par with Howden when you factor in the ice time difference, and that leaves Zibanejad and Buch.
The PK is fifth in the league. He's a big part of it. I give him credit where credit is due.
Wish the offense was there because I wouldn't really have a problem with him a fourth line center getting 8 minutes a night.
But it's not there, and he's not getting 8 minutes a night, so that just isn't gonna work.
But it's not very high up on my list of things that will/could open this season up for us.

I agree and want Quinn out.
But show me a coach who has never made personnel decisions that irritate the fanbase.
Shesterkin — who skated in Pittsburgh on Monday while the team was off — has never started more than three straight games in the NHL. He has compiled a streak that long only twice, once last year and once this season. He never played more than 39 games in a KHL season, though he did play in 25 of the Wolf Pack’s 36 games last year before his promotion to New York.
Yeah very good point, I'm on the same page as you here.Eh, that feels kinda weak to me. And I say that as someone who thinks Howden doesn't have much of a long-term future here.

Yeah although I don't think this is even indicative of Shesty being unable to start more than 3 in a row and moreso indicative of Quinn being unwilling to start him more than 3 times in a row. That is crazy.
If he can't take take the load now, at 25, we're going to have issues.
So Panarin is back but won't play tomorrow night wtf???

Quinn galaxy braining as usual. I think most players need some practices before jumping back in the lineup after missing time but Panarin would be one of the few who shouldn't. He should be back in the lineup the second he's available.
Our 1st and Strome/Kravtsov/BuchWhat’s a legit offer for Larkin?
Yzerman isn’t trading him for peanuts. If we’re talking Lundkvist, Yzerman can take a walk
