Lil Stevie recognizing that it helps to gets them blue chippers at the top of the draft.

I mean clearly he would've been just as successful in Tampa without having the top two picks from 2008 and 2009 already in the system.

Kind of like all that success he enjoyed before Scotty Bowman....oh...never mind.
lmao Lil Stevie.

Seriously that guy just looks like a sociopath.

I actually think Lafreniere and Kakko are showing very good signs this year. In Lafreniere's case he really didn't play any hockey for almost a year and then he's going from Rimouski to the Rangers. That's a big leap considering all that time off. As the season has progressed he's looked better and better.

Kakko's game is much better as well. Last year our D was a lot worse and his defensive play was pretty awful. This year it's significantly better and really he should have more points than he does. He's not had a lot of luck.
The last few games, Laf is showing a bit more of that "I'm better than these people" swagger.

I'm not against changing the rules. I just find myself amused by the timing.

For years everyone says it needs refinement. "Sure, we'll think about."

Now all of sudden there's a fire under the league's ass.
It's against the rules for the Rangers to have anything nice. It is the way.

At least we got our money's worth out of the current system. It's not like we won 3rd overall back to back and people lost their minds.

F Detroit. The squad they iced last year was Bush league. Yzerman can suck a goat.

We tried, failed, and fate rewarded us. DRW iced a AHL squad on purpose and fate, who is a fickle bitch, pulled the rug out from under them.
They refused to sell off on Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Kronwall when they could and should have, and now the chickens are coming home to roost. Zero sympathy for Detroit.

We can still win the next 3 drafts. The rules starts in 2022 and doesn't count anything from 2020 and 2019. It's not anti-Ranger unless the league and the BOG is expecting the Rangers to be bottom 10 by 2024 or 2025.

Ruh-oh.

lmao, as long as Edmonton kept winning it was fine, I guess.

Question: What exactly is the argument against doing the draft order by having teams accumulate points from the day that they're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs? It sounds like a fantastic idea to me.

I think it should go back to how it was during the Adam Larsson draft. Or just ditch lotteries altogether.

Teams that cast off pending UFA players would be at an extreme disadvantage in that scenario . Hard to win games when you lose key guys . Myself....I like the current system but agree with some that moving up and or down should be limited to just a couple of slots either way . That seems like the fairest way...

Ohh ok now I get it. I was just confused by seeing teams like Philly on there but I guess their chance of missing the playoffs us low.
Yeah it’s a lot of numbers and colors. I’ve just been looking at these Sadness charts since like 2014 so I’m used to them.

Again...just for fun. The banal “Sadness” header just cracks me up every time.

I mean he is 24 and has a GAA of 3 & a save percentage of .911 in 88 games. If he was much better, he would not really be a back up.
What you are saying isn’t wrong. I think the issue with Georgiev is he is too Jeckyll and Hyde, more than other team’s backup goalies. He has nights where he really impresses. But then he has nights like last and it really just deflates a team. He is too unstable and it is discomforting as a fan and likely for the players too given how things transpired last night. Granted this team is made up of many, many mental midgets, but thats an entirely different conversation.

So we win the lottery one more time in 21.

Offer Stevie Y Howden for his next Captain as a reminder from his days in Tampa

I really didn't like two of the goals Alex gave up against Jersey or the Marino goal but I don't blame him on either the Kapanen or Crosby goals last night. Kapanen was in on goal so fast after Miller flubbed the play at the blue line. I don't think he had much chance on that. The Crosby was another defensive breakdown and Crosby is a fantastic player--maybe he could have had that but...

I don’t know if the Rangers winning spurred the draft changes but I’m positive Detriot and Ottawa were probably complaining like no ones business that we won.

Which they shouldn’t have, every team in the league agreed to do the lottery in the way in went down last year

that town should not have hockey

Arizona Coyotes and Florida Panthers have been disasters from the start. They cant give tickets away.

For whatever reason Ottawa hasn't been able to establish a foothold either because of how insanely popular Toronto and Montreal are all through Ontario,
