I'd agree but I think size is a huge barrier for Lundy as well. Otherwise he'd be head and shoulders ahead of the rest.
Size? He’s the same size as Fox and an inch shorter than Lindgren

let’s not act like he’s Zuccarello here

I'll add that if we are tossing a good defensive prospect into a trade, I'd trade Jones well before Robertson, Schneider, or Lundkvist.

He's got a lot of talent, but there are a lot more question marks and barriers in between him and the NHL than the other three.

And yes, we have a huge luxury of defensive prospects, but they need to hurry up and get here  I'm tired of seeing Hajek, Johnson, and Smith every game.

I think alot of the same question marks that exist with him also exist with Nils TBH.

Could be. I've only watched one of the two play any number of games (Jones in the NCAA) so it could be that Lundy struggles with some of the same problems in his game,

Young NHLer (Chytil)
“A” Prospect (Kravtsov, Lundkvist, Schneider)
“B” Prospect (Robertson, Jones, Barron)
1st 2021 (most likely top 15) & 2nd 2022
OR
1st 2022 & conditional 2nd 2023 (becomes a 1st if Rangers win a round of the playoffs in either 2022 or 2023)

That would be my Eichel offer.

I'd pass.

I don't feel like any of those pieces are untouchable (though I'd like to see what Chytil does for the rest of the season before jumping on the Eichel wagon full bore) but together thats too much value going out for a player who doesn't want to be in his current situation no matter what Kevyn Adams says and most teams can't afford.

I think it’s gotta be at least 3 players and multiple picks in order to make it happen.

You severely underrate just how good Schneider is. Schneider is coming to camp to battle Lundkvist for a starting spot, providing one of them is not traded. Don't be too surprised if he either wins or has a starting spot at some point during next year.

Schneider has great physical tools. Lundkvist is one of the smartest defensemen in the world not in the NHL. I'm biased but I only rate Lundkvist so highly because he has the chance to be special with a floor no lower than that of Schneider or Robertson.

It's no knock on Schneider by any means, but I've been a big fan of the Robertson pick since day one. He's crazy underrated.

Yeah, I'd imagine Schneider is rated a hair higher than Robertson.

Lundkvist has the highest ceiling of the bunch.

Id agree, the only caveat id add is that with relation to trades it might be more likely Lundkvist gets moved based on his size and the fact we have fox. I honestly think Schneider is the last one to get moved based on our makeup.

Lundkvist's size really is not a problem. He is rarely outmuscled. If anything, it's the other way around. He's very strong on his skates and doesn't shy away from a physical hit.

Lundkvist might be 5'11", but he plays like he's 6'3". It's all about momentum.

Why does Hajek bother you? He is playing as solid as anyone not named Fox.

Call me an el pollo loco, but I want Gorton to call the other 30 GMs to see who wants to take Kreider's contract and what kind of asset/s we can get for Strome. Both guys are playing so well lately and I'm sure playoff contenders would be willing to trade some really nice assets for them.
Here is a bulletin. They signed CK to a multi year contract a little less than a year ago because they wanted him in this organization. You may not like it and that is fine but do you really think Gordon wants to or has nothing better to do than call every other GM and see if he can trade him? I think this topic has been exhausted for the next few years. With everything else to ponder regarding the roster why continue to rehash this over and over?

182.88 centimeters or bust. :sarcasm:

I think that Schneider is rated quite a bit more than a hair than Robertson. But that is just guess work on my end.

Lundkvist may well have the highest ceiling of the three, but what matters is how the overall defense is constructed within the team. That may not mean that it is constructed with all defensemen that have the highest ceilings. I know that you are not saying this, but let's look at Sergie Zubov. A wonderful defenseman. But you are not going far into the playoffs if your entire defense is comprised of 6 Zubovs.

Honestly I think if an injury presents itself and Barron gets a call up, he doesn’t give back that 4th line RW job. He takes it and holds it. Next year for sure. This teams line up is going to be very fluid in the bottom 7-9 over the next 16 months. I’m not married to anything. But this looks good. Give it a shot Davey boy
I have a question for anyone who could answer. Wasn't Barron a center? If the Rangers are depleted at center then why are they opting to play him at wing?

He played wing for 90% of his last few years at Cornell.

That he's a center is a common misconception, same as we did with Kreider for a few years in the NCAA

Cannot really do that without salary going back the other way.

He plays wing 95 percent on the time. He’s being groomed as a winger in Hartford. The only 1 the projects him as a center in Bern but he projects Kravtsov there too so who knows

People are projecting Barron at center because the team said on multiple occasions they potentially see him as a center

and then they just decided to never try it lol

oh Bern, haha. Adding him and 5 other guys for a 8 team trade. Anyways thanks for the answer, everyone.

The thing about the Eichel trade is that it's not going to be one trade. It's going to be two. One for Eichel and one for the center you need to bring in to replace Chytil and Zib. That deep pipeline would suddenly become much more shallow. I'd pass on Eichel. How many superstars do you want/need? Bringing him in would deplete the prospect pool and wreck their salary cap.
