Not to mention Edmonton says no to that deal also. They have finally found a good complementary piece to McDavid and RNH.We get the worse player, have to retain and don’t even get a first? Awful.
There will be plenty of interest, but factoring in Eichel's 5 yr x $10M contract and the acquisition price will limit the number of suitors. Half the league is generous, IMO.You can't compare the Nash deal to Eichel. Nash kinda forced his way to NY and there wasn't any competition.
Eichel will have half the teams in the league on this. That alone will drive up the price.
Montreal as $100k in space, Buffalo has $400k. The deal has to include Drouin and probably Denault, who is having a bad year and UFA. Then another $1.5m in salary.seems to be the case even a team like Montreal may even now be pressured to be looking in on a deal like this and they can surely offer up more down the middle then we can (and there GM may feel the heat to do so)
I’m assuming the deal would include Suzuki plus plus. Maybe even Throw Danault who I know sucks offensively. Obviously the salary going back and forth would be an issue but I’m sure could be figured outMontreal as $100k in space, Buffalo has $400k. Maybe Buffalo likes those players, I wouldn't.
LA yes but Buffalo isn’t trading him within division2020/2021 Buch stock is rising big time. I know it's not an extraordinary sample size, but wouldn't he be on pace for 70+ over 82 right now? Beast season, really stepped up when the whole team imploded.
Montreal scares me with their means to get Eichel as well as LA - BUT we have the D pieces + Chytil.
*+ what will be a great first this year (shit draft I know, but still..)
but I love Ribeye. Especially Ribeye-cap/SpinalisRule number one — “You never fall in love with hockey players. The are pieces of meat” — Ron Ingram, former Ranger defenseman and my first mentor in hockey.
Edmonton almost traded the 9th pick in 2019 for Buch so yeah they’d take that deal and run.Not to mention Edmonton says no to that deal also. They have finally found a good complementary piece to McDavid and RNH.
The fact that they would've then doesn't mean they will now.Edmonton almost traded the 9th pick in 2019 for Buch so yeah they’d take that deal and run.
Except this offer is way less in value than the 9th overall pick. It’s a bad offer. The fact that they would've then doesn't mean they will now.
LA yes but Buffalo isn’t trading him within division

I was gonna say is Chytil being punished or something but then realized Quinn doesn't have much to work with right now.Chytil line is woof. But we’re down 2 top Ws. Not sure how else it could look.
Right, next season Montreal and Buffalo are back together.I mean, it's only temporary divisions yeah? I get it though, I agree with the Athletic (and many folk here) that this is a summer trade.
yeah because he should be in the top-6.Add back Panarin and Kakko and maybe the only thing you cringe at is Blackwell on the third line.
When everyone's healthy up front...
