Things have gone completely silent with DeAngelo. I guess it’s trading deadline or offseason at this point?

I didn't realize we have a major stretch coming up here. 15 games in 26 days. A few back2backs.

A good time to get all the gears crankin', get healthy and play our best hockey

edit - I guess it's like this the rest of the season, barring any covid spreads

I have so many idiots on my ignore and sometimes it still doesn't feel like enough...

Thank you for reminding me I have some control over my “feed”. I’m spending today updating my ignore list, and at this point I’m erring on the other side than before - if a poster has a history of not being able to even acknowledge obvious - it’s a goodbye!

Cmon man, please dont compare Ryan Strome to Mika Zibanejad.

Zibanejad is absolutely a more responsible defensive player. 1000%. He backchecks harder, uses his reach, and makes way less careless decisions with the puck at both ends of the ice.

Zibanejad is also 49.6 % on the faceoff dot for his career (and that was higher before this year). Strome on the other hand is a career 45.8%. That is a significant difference.

If you cant see that there is a wide gap, essentially an ocean, between these two players then man ....all I can say is the Strome Defenders will jump through hoops for this guy, its astounding.

Again, 2 decent** games and one great game and the Strome Defenders are back out in full force.

Every game I hope this guy scores... just so we can trade him for something valuable.
But I'm not even a Strome defender?? I did not like him last season, at all. I'm not saying Zibanejad isn't a better player in general, but I'm strictly talking within the circumstances of this season. If Strome is still terrible this year, so is Zibanejad.

When/if everyone is healthy I would love to see:

Kreider-Chytil-Kakko; built the lineup around this line. When they’re on they could spend the entire game working the puck in the offensive zone. Also gives Kakko the chance to be “the guy” on his line and full reign to create with the puck on his stick without any thoughts of deferring.

Panarin-Zibanejad-Blackwell; think this is the way to get Zibanejad some confidence. Blackwell has enough skill to keep up, a strong motor to retrieve pucks and good hands to collect loose change around the net.

Lafreniere-Strome-Buch; admittedly bit of a “leftover parts” situation here but think this line could feast on the right matchups. Could be a liability defensively however.

The Russian bots were less forceful and defensive in defending Vladimir Putin in the Panarin thread than True Blue is defending everything Quinn does. We can't criticize his dump and chase system without being called heretics.
But answer me this simple question, if you’re able...

Depth wins hockey games.

I mean, all of those lines are below average defensively. I think the talent is at least well distributed though.

I would like to see a lot of taxi squad getting some games in. One for seeing what they bring right now and two making sure guys don’t get over worked and be susceptible to injury.

get the sense that Virtanen is a player that you hate to have on your team cause he doesn’t do anything you want him to
