Why would we move Lafreniere, or Kakko, when pretty much no other team can outbid a package we would put together without those two included. Its stupid.

That is definitely not true.

Kings, Ducks, Flyers, Habs, Wild, and until yesterday, I would've said the Devils as well.

I think trading Chytil is a mistake.

Mika is not here beyond this contract so we would be w/o a 2nd line center which is exactly what Chytil is trending to be

I get it, but you'd think that Buffalo would want a center prospect back, who else is there other than Chytil?

Unless some of those teams are offering up their best prospects, they cannot. Some of those teams are really just starting their rebuilds and may not want to rip up what they have just started for a player that wont move them any closer to a Cup tomorrow.

Lundkvist/Schneider, Kratsov, 1st round pick are a good base and would be tough for those team to match. You can add in Chytil/Buch and more.

I would really want to wait and see what Chytil can do the rest of the season before I swung for a home run .....in time Laf and KK will likely drag around almost anyone as a center /Chytil ? ....A second line of Panarin - C? obtained in trade for Mika - Kravtsov should be manageable and a third line of Kreider-Rooney ?-Gauthier ....which allows us to sign or trade Mika/Buch /Howden/along the way for the C upgrade . Or we keep Mika and run with him and Chytil as 1-2 interchangeable . So far our defense is coming along fine and I doubt we need much addition for it over the next two seasons . Sign Smith for one more year to play the left side on the blueline and pray like heck a prospect shows some promise to steal his spot . This way we keep Kravs-Schneider-our first rounder2021.....and Chytil .

Anyways....just throwing crap and seeing what sticks on a sunny Sunday afternoon . Not sure of payroll figures...but with no Buch & Mika I think we are good and even with Mika at a club win like deal we might be good ?

The Rangers can absorb Eichel’s 10 million hit. Chytil most likely would be in the deal, Buch may or may not be here. Igor will need a new deal. They have 25 million in cap space.

That's the short-term outlook, sure. Lindgren and Shsterkin will need a new contracts this year. Fox and Kakko next year. Lafrenière and Miller the year after. And in that they also need to figure out who the 2C is.

Most likely, that $25m is going to get eaten up really fast. In no way is this saying that it wouldn't be manageable, but it's not a compete non-consideration.

I agree. Which is why I am not sure that as things stand, Buffalo makes for a good trading partner.

It depends on what they want, but I think they make a great trading partner with us. We'd have the concerns, but like I said, I think those concerns are pretty manageable.

Oh absolutely. Out of a the players mentioned, at this moment only Fox is due a very hefty raise. But yes it’s smart to still hold some space back just in case.

To be honest, not sure how to make the cash work. Or maybe that is the Buch part of the deal. But I cannot see how Chytil is not part of a potential trade.

Yes they are if the Rangers offer the best package talent wise.

That's the thing. Without tossing the players mentioned as untouchable, are we the best trade package?

Maybe if it's lateral move with Zibs in the deal.

But are these deals topping a deal with Konecny/Sanheim or Suzuki/Romanov are the main pieces?
