By the way Ruff is naming Hischier captain. Zero fear no hesitation. We have no leadership with this coach

Part of the issue is our centers need to pick up their respective games. It's a lot harder for most wingers (excepting Panarin) to produce a lot when their centers aren't playing well.

It look like Kakko is on the verge of his coming out party. IMHO For this the only thing left to figure out is how to be just a bit faster pulling the trigger (figuratively and literally) on his plays. Even on the SO goal he scored last game - he fulled just a bit too close to goalie than he needed to.

It is still strange we haven't named a captain, is it that they think Zib is the captain but arent sure if he is resigning?

How much is Mika going to be willing to leave on the table to go to said winner?

With the haul that Buffalo will get from NYR along with their one 1st, so long as they resign Hall, that team could offer Mika probably a better contract by a decent margin than most "winners"
 
Who on this team is playing like they are captain material?

Kreider and Zibanejad are failing to lead by example on the ice, both are guilty of playing mistake-prone and uninspired hockey this season.

Why would either of them be rewarded with a captaincy, and why should the young players look up to them after the way they have performed?

There's plenty of reasons to criticize Quinn, but not naming a captain was probably one of the better decisions he has made.

Contemplating potential impact of ADA at this point is not here or there - accomplishes the same as the impact of prime Jagr as an example.

And I’d also wouldn’t mention Strome, compared to Zibanejad and Kreider, Strome’s performance has been just fine.

I'm not really interested in mortgaging the team's future for Eichel, b/c quite frankly i don't think he's the piece that'd put us over the top. Not interested in moving any of Kakko, Laf, Fox, Miller, Shesterkin for instance

Tbh I think Barkov fits what we have built a lot better. I pray he goes to free agency
