Its like he's responsible for beating the Hawks in the 3rd period all by himself.Jesper Fast is having a great game for Carolina tonight
Putting a struggling rookie into a top 6 center spot..what could go wrong?that center depth is awful tooPanarin - Lafreniere - Buchnevich
Lemieux - Strome - Kakko
Rooney - Blackwell - PDG
Kreider - Howden - Gauthier
Scratch: Zibanejad
let’s go

This is a fun thought experiment, the only problem is that outside of Graves:Kakko, the rest of those comparisons are like bootleg versions of the '94 HOFers. If you wanna put a very positive spin on it I told Raspewtin last night that I see '94 similarities in terms of the core.
-Franchise defenseman that looks like the best piece right now (Leetch; Fox)
-A second defenseman that could potentially be high-end and form an opposite-hand one-two punch (Zubov; Miller)
-A super high-end wing prospect who has immense talent but evident perplexities at the NHL level (Kovalev; Lafreniere)
-An imperious winger who can do a bit of everything (Graves; Kakko)
-Rumors floating that we're going to trade for our franchise center with a captain's pedigree (Messier; Eichel/Crosby)
-Two goaltenders that we keep bouncing between
Ended the game with 6:30 total.
guy sounds power crazy
their situation is getting very bad. When the org and player start having rifts... it gets weird.
Told my friends before the season I wanted to trade Tda for him and Rathbone. Obviously not a chance in hell that can happen anymoreAnother ugly loss for Van.
I wish Nils Hoglander was on our team.
Trouba’s deal ends when he’s 31. Can’t really lump him in with Kreids and zibbyWell, yes and no. We were never meant to compete for a cup this season- the goal was the make the playoffs and give the young guys that experience. Laf and Kakko's slow statistical start should actually help keep the AAV down on their next contracts.
The key will be whether the stars align properly, and if Kakko and Laf come into their own at 22, which is pretty much the norm for star players, will Panarin at 31-32-33 still be at the same level. I'm optimistic that even if he isn't at 100 point seasons, he'll still be a 75-90 point guy.
But if NYR's rebuild is successful, Panarin will only need to be a complementary player, the way Stamkos is in Tampa Bay or Nylander is in Toronto. Then, ideally, Kakko Laf, Fox, Miller and Shesty will be the new veteran core after the departure (Or lower re-signed rate) of Panarin Kreider and Trouba.
If we are talking about guys aging poorly and having anchor contracts, I'm much more worried about Trouba, Kreider, and Zibanejad than Panarin. Playmakers often have very long careers. Panarin is so savvy he barely ever gets hit.

I mean that's maybe an argument to be made about PLD but nothing about bennett said he gave anything less than 100%.Nothing crazy here. GM just showing who’s the boss.
What’s crazy tho? These young players demanding trades and acting like a child when things don’t go your way.
I think they’ve got about two weeks to start things going in the right direction. But if they keep losing/floundering it would make a ton of sense to sell/sit any player not part of the future and play the kids extremely.Go nuts. Call up Khodorenko. Use the season to give players a shot and see what they can do. Barron and Richards for a game afterwards.
