Rumor has it that Blackwell is becoming an untouchable.

I would imagine the Rangers are hoping Seattle takes Strome rather than DeAngelo

Although their front office is filled with smart people who value analytics so they won’t touch Strome with a ten foot pole

They won't touch DeAngelo with a 20ft pole taped to the end of Strome's 10ft pole jammed up his arse.

Seattle is very in tune with selling their product to the "diverse" crowd up there. No way in hell they take ADA.

You know what's crazy to think about. Kappo Kakko is already becoming a force along the boards and using his body/stick to recover pucks. And he's not yet gotten his full adult strength. As he continues to gain confidence in his own strength he will become more and more dangerous.

Last night in OT when he held onto the puck in the O zone for 30 seconds before that pass to Buch -- he had two moments that revealed a lack of confidence in his own abilities.

1. When he first rushed into the zone, he was about even with Ghostisbere. Kakko is much bigger than Ghost and when Kakko is going full speed with his size he will and should eventually just bull right to the net. He didn't make a bad play by turning back as holding possession in OT is a good idea. But the full confidence, full steam version of Kakko will be able to flick off guys like Ghost one day, hopefully soon.

2. He tried to drop the puck to Buch at the blue line but Buch didn't see it so Kakko retrieved. In this case, it was a 50/50 choice. Kakko could have just kept the puck or he could pass to Buch. He deferred to the vet. Once Kakko decides HE is the difference maker on the ice. He will only get more and more dangerous.

Last season, when he started, he overhandled the puck in the corners, kept trying to change directions and it didn't work. When he started passing the puck to others sooner, going in a straight line, moving his legs and finding open ice, his effectiveness grew by leaps and bounds.

But now that he's sorted out his game away from the puck and his strength is improved, he needs to start demanding the puck more and imposing his will with the puck on his stick. He is nearing that level that Zibby had and Chytil has where he can use his size and power to make things happen with possession.

Not out of the question.

Guys like Howden, Lemieux, etc. are very much in that Oscar Lindberg terrain heading into the expansion draft.

Truth is, we shouldn't lose any sleep over what forward the Rangers might lose in the expansion draft. The only player I would love to not lose is Gauthier. If only because he has a higher ceiling and has the frame and feet to be very effective in the post season one day.

I don’t think Howden is a great player but protecting career journeyman Blackwell over Howden would be bad for business

DeAngelo is basically a free protection slot. Should be a selling point in trade talks. Seattle of all towns, while trying to build a fanbase isn’t going to take a controversial player. I’m not going to spell it out more than that, but it’s just not happening.

Tennyson is a cheap RD on waivers . Won’t be shocked to see a pick up like that

So carp was saying on his last article that the rangers currently don't even have cap space to bring up reunanen, so if thats correct (which I am questioning), i dont see them able to pick anyone up unless trouba goes on LTIR.

I've been really liking Lemieux's game over the past couple of weeks. I wouldn't mind him taking an expanded role

It seems like Quinn has it 'out' for him.

My guess is, Howden is way more likely to get protected just because we have zero C depth. All other factors be damned.

I'd put Blackwell at center and move Howden to wing. There's something off there. He wears out after a certain amount of time.

Panarin Strome Kakko
Kreider Rooney Buch
Laffy Blackwell Howden
Lemieux Zibs PDG/Gauthier

Agreed, at least until coaching can get into his head a shooters mentality and see what happens.

Lemieux has a duality to his game that can either be incredibly helpful, or a detriment.

There's a very fine zone he has play within to maximize his benefits. Even for me, I find myself going back and forth between, "That was cool" and "Ugh, why did you do that, now!?"

He'd easily become Torts' favorite with how good he's become at blocking shots.

He's effective and noticeable when he plays a simple game. I even think he'd be a nice compliment to our skill... if only he was on the RW.
