His new contract has kicked in. Full NMC for an additional 3 seasons.

Starting July 1st 2024 he submits his 15 team No Trade List.

There were so many people here who wanted nothing to do with this extension.

Chris Kreider - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

Well we did tell people that he should have been traded. He is a streaky player who only shows up for 20 or so games a season. Now we are paying him 6.5M with a NMC to a 3rd line winger. He is the next Staal, Wade Redden contract that people will want bought out in a year or two.

I’d listen on Kuznetsov. He’s in his prime, is a top-tier 2C, is 28 and only making 7.8 until he’s 33.

He fits our window, could connect with Buchnevich, Panarin and/or Kravstov.

That checks a lot of boxes, so it only depends on what Washington asks for and if they’d deal with a division rival.

He has repeatedly had off ice issues (which is why Washington may trade him) and I doubt that is someone you want around a young core that you are teaching to be professionals.

We have to stop having purity tests of our personnel. If they’re good players, help us get Ws, and aren’t assaulting anyone we should embrace or mitigate other differences.

I sincerely doubt that Kuznetsov is so much a locker room cancer that he nullifies the impact of our leaders in that same room.

I have much more faith in the caps internal leadership than I do the leadership here. If they want him gone for his coke issues, his inability to make meetings on time, and inability to follow team rules than it would be a terrible idea to bring him here to set those examples for our kids. If he gets dealt it's an evander Kane to sj situtaion where he goes to a new team with a strong leadership group to help steer him, it's not a team bringing him into a situation that is currently lacking leadership.

He literally has a Cocaine problem lmao.

Craig Button on Vancouver based talk show Donnie and Dhali talking about the Rangers instilling the kind of grit that Sathers alluded to. Paraphrasing, teams have to not hide or worry about instigator penalties, if you feel the need to deal with something or start something, you don't worry about the instigator, we'll kill it off. A tougher mentality is something that has to be instill over time and the players have to develop that.

This is something that needs to change with the next coach. Quinn is too strict with his course. Lemieux over the years became more and more timid because of that "unnecessary" penalty in scrums. Kakko and Gauthier benched more than a few times for fairly routine penalties. Smith benched and scratched because of that style, until the players, team, and owner were embarrassed then all of a sudden he's golden boy reserved for fighting Tom Wilson. The softness in this team is not necessarily the way the players are or the way the roster is built as Quinn claims. It's the weak leadership from Quinn that took the instinct to be salty and mean out of the players.
Quinn coaches for his professional life. This is like Mr. "Safe is Death" forcing his skill guys to block every shot and having an aneurysm over a single penalty because he somehow decided to win games 1-0.

Quinn doesn't tolerate errors because he has no margin of error. So was this marching orders? Make the playoffs or else? The kids will learn by osmosis, just drag them into the post-season. Is this Quinn?

These guys need to be able to breath. Take the leash off Quinn or move on. They fight the instincts that got them to the best league and it shows. If you insist on discipline, enforce it up and down the lineup. Not just on the people you can afford to sit.

This is the first think Dolan has said about this that I actually agree with, but it still doesn’t seem to explain firing both guys with 3 games left at all. Wait two weeks, say this is the issue and fire Quinn too and it at least seems like a semi logical move
Had to be now because "Exit Interviews are very important"

Well if I reading it correctly it looks like we could go #14 before the lottery .
Edit: Change that to 15. Did not include Seattle.

This is totally contradicted by what Dolan was talking about in his interview.
