WE really have no centers to speak of right now with Zib non existent and FC hurt. Howden is weak and Strome is Strome. The highlight last night was watching Strome not taking face offs because he sucks at them and using Lafreniere instead who was getting beat clean;y on the draws. Honestly the best player on the ice last night was probably Blackwell.

Kakko and Blackwell were the best Rangers

Blackwell has played Center. He should be moved there with Kakko.

At what point do you take Zibs away from Kreider and Buch? I'd put him with the bottom6 tbh.

As bad as it looks/sounds, this is our best option

Kreider Rooney Buch
Lafreniere Blackwell Kakko
Panarin Strome PDG
Lemieux Zibs Howden/Gauthier

They won’t blame Quinn and will use something like this reasoning “Well, we are in the hardest conference and playing the harder teams. In a normal season we’d have a variety of chances”. Hopefully since they are playing the same teams maybe they can adapt and adjust to try and at least score a few?

I don't really know the details of everything that happened with Babs up in TOR. But there was something about asking a 19 year old Marner to rank the least hard working player to the most hard working player. That might have been a lot for Yung Mitch to bear, so much so that he was the highest hockey paid player in the world at age 22. That was some real cruel stuff there that lead to some long term damage.

I know there was a ton of outrage.... but are there have other professions in which members of an organization are asked to come up with judgement calls based on a certain set of criteria? Does that happen in other workplaces? It would be hypocritical to say that lists and rankings don't take place on these boards, or blogs or twitter. They do. But is it acceptable to have that happen in the workplace?

Babcock is a narcissistic power tripping a-hole, all you need to know about him is he wouldn't let Modano get to a 1000 games and he benched Spezza his opening night in his hometown for no reason, and played him 2 nights later. No thanks, leave that mind gaming tool where he is.

The issue for me is that its not just on coaching or just on the players.

The problems we are and have been having is equally shared.

Two of out top three forwards have been Claude Rains all season thus far.

These guys (Mika and CK) as leaders have to burden the blame for this teams struggles. Coaching is an issue yes, but 5 goals and 3 assists between them is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE.

We are already losing, where is the accountability for these guys not getting benched in game or demoted to the 3rd and 4th lines.

This is somebooshit

I recall this management withstanding a tremendous amount of pressure from the fans and the media on Vigneault. If Larry is correct which I assume he is, we are so far away from Quinn being booted. Sad. At least Larry has set the first domino in motion.

This team is by far the most excuse laden, excuse ready, and excuse me team I've ever followed.

AV got no heat from the media to be replaced. Not even after he blew the Ottawa series.

At the end of the day, Media/Fan reaction should never push a FO to do anything that major with the exception of a few things. Quinn should be fired now, but he certainly will be fired if this keeps up longer.

Quinn isn’t getting fired anytime soon so it’s pretty clear there’s a disconnect between the fans thoughts on him/the teams situation and managements

Think it was 1500 for Modano which you know was an unceremonious gesture. But the other shit? Seriously, even some of the players own mother's wouldn't feel that slighted.

I don't mean for this reply to come across as if I'm engaging in dialogue, cause you and I don't think alike and probably never will on the topic, but that's perfectly okay.

It's all about getting that ad revenue. Nothing wrong with having a difference of opinion.

No Babs. The guy we need is currently behind the bench in Florida right now (Rangers should have grabbed him as soon as he was available).
and that's the major issue.. We have Gallant available now. Is he going to be there in the offseason?

Who's going to be available? when the time comes?

They'd do it to add a 50+ point threat on the PP. Their only RHS D is Tyler Myers.
But they lack cap room and would have to move more salary out to make it work.

Listen, I agree with you. I think the need for them is there and I would be over the moon if we turned Tony into two valuable pieces.

But I have a hard time seeing us receive two middle six players for a guy we put on waivers. Calgary was (clearly) hesitant to move Bennett for Tony D, don't see a division rival thinking that them paying more is a good idea.

But then again, it's Jim Benning so...

I think it's just typical response from the fan base. They want blood after a poor start and Quinn is the easiest person to point to. Management is worried about the next 10 years, not the next 10 days. They look at this team and see significant improvement in the play of their young players -- almost to a man. They see some of the role players they brought in stepping up in a big way and playing with energy and pace. They see a massive improvement in their defensive scheme after bringing in a new assistant coach. So the things they did in the off-season to help improve the team are working and they're likely pretty darn satisfied with that.

On the flip side, they also see a team that just went through some significant locker room turmoil. So they probably want to give the players and coaches some time to put that behind them. Additionally, they see that some of their key veteran leaders are failing to come through. They're probably WAY more focused on the long term prospects of Zibanejad and Kreider than they are Quinn.

Quinn was brought in to be a developmental coach and the players are developing. He's really not the problem here. The veteran players who are supposed to be leading the team not showing up? That's a big problem right now. Will it be a problem long term? That's for the front office to decide on.

Let's worry about Kravtsov making the team first, before we start pencilling him in for a position he's not used to.
Kravtsov should not even come close to New York until at the very least next year. It’s a mess here right now and having another talented prospect score a point every 10 games is a dumb idea. Plus Kravtsov is not a grinder high energy guy. Let him continue to develop his body and mind in the KHL far away from Quinn

They were unable to claim him unless they somehow could dump 4.5 million overnight. A trade is the only way they could do it.

I'm honestly more intrigued by a trade of Buchnevich to see what can be had there than anything else right now. Teams like Edmonton will be looking for secondary scoring help
