Great energy at the board! I just want add a few things on the waiting for a trade stuff.

1. So obviously a trade is preceded by negotiations and when those negotiations are done the trade is filled with the NHL and announced as soon as possible.

Before negotiations are done, there is no trade. We are never waiting for a trade to be announced, we are waiting for negotiations to end (successfully). Right?

If there is a trade deadline it’s one thing, but knowing negotiations — if they can drag out they will drag out...

2. We could like get direct lines to 15 GMs in the NHL, and still get a very unclear picture of what will and will not happen. It’s a very complex process and nobody can predict for sure what will happen.

In addition, if we knew the “successful trade“/“talks” ratio league wide, I am fairly certain that our first conclusion would be that the best bet in ration to any given scenario is that “nothing will happen”.

So regarding like the talk we have heard, say OEL have played his last game for Arizona, Johnny Hockey will be traded before free agency. Maybe, but if I had to bet everything I own on either of these scenarios coming through or not — I don’t think it would be an easy call. So much can go wrong in these talks — and if everything done go right the “default option” is no trade.

3. I consider GM/other official personnel including scouts/coaching staff/players/agents as well as everyone that has had those positions for us or other teams as great sources, and that list isn’t exclusive.

I love to hear tidbits from them. Rumors. It’s essentially information on that certain talks are held, meaning that a team might consider something.

That’s a lot of words to say wait and see what happens

Rangers should not start messing up with what they have been building.

In 2-3 years time there will be (likely) multiple guys making superstar money and where those elc’s will be worth gold

I dont not appreciate what he's done for this franchise, when he retires, he will always be a NYR Legend with his number rightfully hoisted to the rafters, but now, as an active ex-NYR, I dont care where he goes or what happens to him

I’m not surprised by that, this is just the first time I seen it mentioned lol. I know it was a really popular place back in the day. Unfortunately I’m only 30 so I got to experience Pacha instead. The bagel spot across the street was mint after leaving if you could actually eat it haha.

I mean, the franchise is a compliation of people, certainly always changing, but with some continuity. You're gonna tell me if the Rangers win the cup you aren't going to watch the players celebrate, instead just stare at the NYR logo and smile?

So you're 8 a.m. update is that there's really no news or surprises right now.

Rangers continue to talk to teams, but there's some hesitation around the NHL to do deals before the draft. Doesn't make it impossible, just means there are a lot of discussions that are on hold for right now.

Rangers did supposedly gauge interest from Montreal, Chicago and Edmonton about their picks. It's safe to assume it came up with Calgary as well.

Defenseman is definitely in play at 22, depending on which forwards come off the board. I've got a better idea of the Rangers top 20, which I can go into detail post-draft.

Probably the most interesting thing for today is that the Rangers top 20 has 6 defensemen in it.

A lot of silence around Strome, which is a little weird.

San Jose expressed interest in Geogiev until the last, but was not willing to trade their higher second round pick for him. It's possible they offered a 2021 second, but the Rangers weren't terribly interested in that right now.

For the past 22 hours I have now been awake I have watched in their entirety Game 4 of the 1992 Patrick Division Finals (Ron Francis hat trick), ‘94 Game 6 & 7 vs. the Devils, ‘94 Game 7 vs. Vancouver, ‘97 Game 4 vs. Florida (Gretzky hat trick) , a game on 1/22/2002 just to represent the Dark Ages, Hank’s first NHL game, Game 5 ‘07 vs. Sabres (I will always loathe you Drury), Game 4’08 vs. Devils, Game 7 ‘09 vs. Washington (Federov snipe). Now, I’m on the f***ing Olli Jokinen shootout. Not sure how much Bailey’s needs to go into my coffee........

this tells me that Kaiden Guhle is probably the pick at 22 which will upset a lot of this board.
