the best part is we did no such thing as tanking this season. That’s truly a wonderful thing about getting first overall this year. Showed some improvement and we were playing pretty well second half of the season

This hypothetical scenario is being presented because I can guarantee you Gorts has fielded calls on Fox. And, the fact that if you’re big-game hunting like Gorts has like it been, it’ll ultimately include some of our untouchables.
Just curious to who you guys see as fair compensation after his sensational rookie season.
Thinking out loud here - let’s say the offers for ADA are mediocre. But, some teams are offering a stupid return for Fox...?

I’m not suggesting we should trade or entertain the idea of trading Fox. Hell, I listed him as one of our untouchables before Players like Zbad and Panarin.
What I’m asking is, what would you guys consider as a fair return for him if Gorton decided to roll with Trouba/ADA/Lundkvist.
Rangers bought out Shatty after 119 games here In NY, and traded Kotalik to a team on his No Trade List.

This thought has definitely crossed my mind. Just never posted it because it's taboo to even mention Fox in a trade.
But, hypothetically, if Fox is the deal breaker for Buffalo in an Eichel deal? Tough call. I know if I'm Buffalo, and #1/Kakko are off the table, Fox needs to be included or it's a hard stop.

probably hardest guy to get fair value for. I guess Zegras but Anaheim won’t deal him. He’s part of the core four going forward. Shesty, Kakko, Lafreniere, Fox.

As weird as it would look, this would be one of the landing spots I’d hate the least. Ovechkin is one of my favorite players of all time so I’d say Caps are my 2nd favorite team, even though I don’t believe in having a 2nd favorite.
Damn it, how can I root for him if he plays for Washington? But it would be cool to possibly play him multiple times next year.
I think he's the kind of guy that deserves an A on his chest soon. Tony's making his bones playing hockey. Kid's a great interview. Good face behind a camera, and he steps up for his team. Smaller in height but pound for pound... he can TKO a dude or two. He's not afraid. Tony's got a lot going for himself, and is a new age athlete for the game in the social media age.
There's a lot of good with Tony DeAngelo. The Rangers certainly don't lose by keeping Tony.

He can also get in the Rangers way to prove point. Rangers would have to go through WSH if both teams are contending. If the Rangers meet Henrik in the playoffs, I'd love to see a day game in WSH with the next game back in NY. Bet you Hank goes lights out on the day game, takes the train up to NYC, has dinner with the fam at a restaurant of their choice, and goes lights on the next game. That would be a Kingly thing to do.

I do not want to move Fox - but at the end of the day every player has a price. If the offers on ADA are garbage, but I can get arguably the best Center prospect in the NHL for Fox, I pull that trigger as painful as it is..
