I don’t know the guy has put up 250 pts in his last 217 games. Making 8.5 mil with what 3 years left on the deal? I can’t imagine they give him up for a B prospect

he’s played plenty of games the last number of seasons and a sports hernia is hardly the career ending type. Not like he was out with concussions or shoulder injuries. He slowed down for 2 3 seasons of his career a lot having to do with that bad leg injury but he really has been lights out the last few years.

for me I just think he plays the same exact type of game as Zibanejad. Plays the same role on the powerplay it’s like trying to jam a puzzle piece in where one is already there. Need a different type of center imo.

He's definitely a candidate. I know he's in their top 20, and they like him a lot.
6 dmen in our top 20 is wild. This scouting staff never fails to amaze me. If we pass on a Lapierre for Wallinder or smth im going to be disappointed. The forwards in the first round of this draft are great.

I think it's just bad timing to trade him, given the team just won a Stanley Cup without him. I feel like theyre selling him at a low point, vs if he just had a monster playoff run, he would return a haul. Teams are going to be cap cautious given COVID/flat cap and the uncertainty moving forward. The idea that he may be injury prone at $8.5M might be a tough sell to some owners.

What does everyone not like about Guhle?
I really like Guhle, i just dont think he would be BPA considering the forwards available. I would much rather try to teach Bourque or Perreault how to back check because they are already elite offensive threats. BPA aside LD is the LAST position we should be drafting for.

I agree with that, I would rather add some forwards with how many D prospects we have. But it sounds like people dislike Guhle as a prospect all together.

I will say this if I’m Tampa I got my Cup I got it without stamkos I have Point Cirelli Gourde down the middle. I need to clear big money

I absolutely would be trying to trade him to keep my younger guys and keep trying to win. He’d be the guy I would be moving. Not cirelli not Gourde not Sergachev (unless was for a right shot qb)

Of course the Rangers have 6 d-men in the top 20 of a draft year widely viewed as being light on defensemen.

At least most of the guys I could see being that high are from areas we're pretty good at scouting. 5 of them have to be Sanderson, Drysdale, Guhle, Schneider, and Wallinder. A US kid, two kids from The Dub, and a Swede. No chance at Drysdale. All scouting strengths. The 6th is tricky unless they're not concerned at all about Barron's injuries.
The other Swedish kid that’s been a riser — I’m blanking on his name — is my guess for the 6th.

LOL he carried this franchise for the entirety of his career. If we catch a break in 14 or 15 he's considered immortal here and one of the best goalies ever. But "he's nothing more than an ex-teammate..." Unless he goes to Pitt, NJ or NYI I want him to get his cup. We're not talking about Jesper Fast here, we're talking about one of the greatest Rangers of all time.

and I do not care.

I really don't understand why Stamkos would possibly accept a trade anywhere? Why would he leave the only team he's ever played for, that he's the captain of, that's one of the best teams in the league, in a state with no state income tax, where he's still a first liner?

It doesn't really make sense. What incentive would he possibly have to leave? And he knows if they come to him with a trade it's not because "they don't want him" like Hornqvist said with Pittsburgh. It's just because they need to clear cap space. That's not really his problem.

I mean, the franchise is a compliation of people, certainly always changing, but with some continuity. You're gonna tell me if the Rangers win the cup you aren't going to watch the players celebrate, instead just stare at the NYR logo and smile?

Of course I'm going to watch the players celebrate, that doesn't mean that I will have any emotional attachment to any single one of them.

I'm more happy for the Franchise and fans than I am for the players.

Well that’s obviously the other part of it and why they are in cap trouble that they need to figure out.

What does everyone not like about Guhle?

I do believe that for many people, forwards are easier to fall in love with.

I tend to get that as well. My usual philosophy is to go with forwards in the first, and defensemen in the second, unless there's a noteworthy talent or a guy is clearly the BPA.

Guhle could be the BPA at 22. The challenge for some fans is going to be the rawness. He sort of resembles the player he could someday be, but there are moving parts right now.

There's nice offensive upside there and the potential to be a really attractive defenseman who plays in multiple situations. But you're drafting him for the player you think he's going to be 2-5 years from now, not necessarily because he's the best player in 2020.

The final cut is my favorite PF album but gets me charged up for some reason
I don't think I can ever say a single PF album has ever charged me up. They are not that kind of band for me. However, music is so personal, there just isn't a universal formula, which is actually pretty awesome IMO.

Well there are a couple things at play. Maybe there are personal reasons that he wants to play in a certain market? That we'll never know. The state taxes can probably be made up by the fact that the NYR / other destinations play in a much bigger market, there are more opportunities to make money outside of hockey(endorsements ect) and its just a bigger stage. Maybe he wants that, maybe he doesn't. We just don't know.

Not Now John isn't bad. But the rest is pretty terrible. They all hated each other so much at that point.
I think at that point, Roger was stuck in the cycle of, "I lost my father in WWII and my friend to drugs." Obviously, hard impacting events, but when there are other creative voices, and another uncompromising personality in Gilmour, something had to give.
