I wanted Copp but Trocheck is a much better player and fills more needs. Never thought he would be a Ranger.

I'm still stuck with the old Rangers ways

Trocheck is the only one in the top 6 who I'm not worried about playing the right way.

He doesn’t have a few years to wait for a team to be a Cup contender. Which is why he probably had no interest in them now and won’t in a few months either. Considering he would only go one place or burn it all down I don’t think that changes in July

Kane is 34. He doesnt have a few years to hope Buffalo can add much needed depth and develop a #1 goalie and become a true contender. Rangers are ready made contender with a good mix of youth and experience. He is also mindful of his legacy. Where is he among the all-time greats if he breaks a NYR Cup drought like Messier? I'm sure that's a factor for him

If buffalo still stunk, I would get where you guys are coming from, but theyre no worse than we were before we signed panarin. Yes he is much older, but its not implausible.

Buffalo is a goalie away from being a pretty good team, and goalies can be voodoo. They can have the best goalie in the league on their team next year and it wouldnt be that crazy.

They will definitely be in the mix

It is jarring to me that Kane is older than Messier (and Jagr for that matter) was when he came to the Rangers. Those guys looked so much older and more manly at that time.

He may end up adding him eventually. Dreger highlighting that Parayko is from Albert in his latest tweet makes it sound like he may be the guy who they're after though.

It just doesnt really track with what weve heard about Kane's motivations. Kaplan, Staple and others have all hinted that Kane has had his eye on NY since Panarin signed here. Kane was born (and arrested) in Buffalo, but the worst kept secret in the league has been that 88 wants NY or Nowhere. I would be very surprised if they don't work something out on a 2-3 year deal.
