There is more evidence suggesting that he benefited from a better, steady partnership. I’m not having that. He definitely got better but Miller was a part of it. Rangers don’t have anyone to step into that role if Miller is moved either. We’ve seen Trouba with Hajek/Smith/etc. it wasn’t good. If you wouldn’t break up Lindgren with Fox, there isn’t a reason to break up Miller and Trouba. Both of those pairings were strengths. The Rangers are too top heavy. It was the third pair and bottom six that killed them. And backup goaltending too honestly. That is an assumption you are making.
Trouba could have been that same player this year with any player.
Its just as possible that he played better this year regardless of partner than it is that his play this year was the result of being paired with a rookie.
In fact, I'd venture a guess its that Trouba was just better this year than last.
What the hell is that number next to Chytil?
This is what my offseason is looking like in total with signings, re-signings, buyouts etc. The only thing it does NOT include is expansion choice. Bogo isn't a necessity with Smith but was including as sort of a product of a possible Smith replacement, Nils wasnt an option and Cizikas could possibly make less.
I think the defensemen most likely to be traded this summer are named Zac Jones and Tarmo Reunanen, so I don't think the Miller discussion becomes important unless he is specifically requested by a team for a good, good player.

Buch is getting more than 5.5 AAV.
The Miller trade stuff here is based on the idea of a KAM for Hertl scenario in the trade board, where I wouldn't do it, but it's something you at least think about.
Sure. Miller is a great young asset but I wouldn't put him in the untouchable category. Same situation with Kravtsov.
Fox, Laf, Kakko are the off the board young guys for me. Everything else depends on the offer. I could see Nils or K'Andre working their way into untouchable next season depending on performance.

Miller would bring back a better player than Zac. Zac would bring back a better player than Tarmo. Packages consisting of them being add on to a major move, its really you get back what your willing to give up.
That's said, Miller is NOT an untouchable TO ME if landing a top center prospect or young center becomes "available".
To I trade Miller for Malkin? Nope.
Do I trade Miller to get Zegras? Yup.
To I trade Miller in a package to land say Larkin? Probably.
Not touching an Eichel what if.
My untouchable list in order
Fox
LAF
Kaako
Schneider
Miller
Nils
Robertsson
Zac
And I'm a fan of Zac . I can see a 35 point season for 10 years straight for this kid.
Yes I think that highly of Brayden.
If we didn't have Fox, I'd put Nils dead even with Miller.
K. Now I'm just blabbing. I yapping shit that nobody is talking about lol. Procrastinating from mowing the lawn bring time. Apologies. Just scroll by haha.

You're not adding anything to the conversation here.I see lots of Marcel Hossa in his game
He likely settled his contract for a lump sum. The Rangers are paying some of the freight here.More than likely, hes not getting paid by the Rangers.
Usually when guys are removed from roles as HC, GM, President they removed, but not necessarily fired.
Meaning still under contract and being able to sign with another team needs permission from the team they are contracted with as we just saw with Gallant being granted permission to speak with the NYR.
I believe that his release to sign with CLB is without any further compensation paid out by the NYR.
I could be wrong, but I believe that's how tjat works with front office personnel

I would love to see them stay the course, but I don't think the big offseason is Nosek, Cizikas, and Bogosian, after your front-office is Thanos-snapped out of existence lol.
Committing $7M+ to the fourth line concerns me.This is what my offseason is looking like in total with signings, re-signings, buyouts etc. The only thing it does NOT include is expansion choice. It's not important.100%
I just don't see anyone on the internal level ready to take over the importance of the 4th line. Barron maybe...? However, I don't think his optimal placement is on the 4th line.
I think Cizikas could go for less and I can see nixing Nosek for Blackwell/Rooney. I think Coleman is an ideal piece because he can fit in up and down the lineup.
