I agree. For whatever reason, these series seem extra angry this year. But I will say, I'm not worried about guys like Kakko and Laff finding an extra gear if and when they get there.
Exactly. Laf and Kakko are not jack hughes sized. Both are big, and laf has historically shown an edge to his game. Kakko hasn’t had a similar edge but his performance against Carolina last year showed he can bang with the big boys.

Also Kakko doesn’t play “physical,” but he can be dominant along the boards and when protecting the puck. He’s not going to go out and start throwing big hits, but he’s not a pushover.

How many times this year did we watch him essentially move through 2-3 players with the puck on the boards. If you can eat hits and not lose the puck you can play in the playoffs.

not to call you out specifically but I really don't understand how dominant board play and puck protection is not physical play.

It would be very rongo to go heavy into physical play with the roster only to have the league shift into a skill meta just as they got the roster there.

Watching the playoff games- most team's skilled players play the way Panarin does now. Washington, Boston, Vegas, all these teams are guilty of heavy passing and tic-tac-toe plays.

Again, it's the third and fourth lines that you'd like to see some more direct play from.

The more I watch these Eastern conference playoffs the more I think we would've gotten absolutely mauled in round 1 had we snuck in. We aren't built for the 2nd season.
I really hope that as Lafreniere gets bigger and stronger he gets back to that mean streak he had in juniors. They guy can really through the body when he wants to.

Vegas seems like a natural partnership for a hypothetical Zibanejad trade. Perfect guy for the NBA-style all star roster they've been putting together and if they jettison Marchessault this summer they can even afford Zib's raise.

i just want Dolan gone, any way possible ugh worst owner ever
up until this season he'd been absolutely fine from a fan perspective. spending to the cap, but not hamstringing the team with his meddling the way he was with the knicks.

what sue for termination? he's still likely getting paid.

More than likely, hes not getting paid by the Rangers.

Usually when guys are removed from roles as HC, GM, President they removed, but not necessarily fired.

Meaning still under contract and being able to sign with another team needs permission from the team they are contracted with as we just saw with Gallant being granted permission to speak with the NYR.

I believe that his release to sign with CLB is without any further compensation paid out by the NYR.

I could be wrong, but I believe that's how tjat works with front office personnel

Losing Zibby for nothing would be awful. If they don't plan to re-sign him then trade him.
I think the team is going to be really really good next year. If going into the trade deadline Zibby is playing out of his mind and the Rangers are looking to be a dangerous team that could go deep, he might play himself out of New York but the Rangers would be foolish to trade him at that point.
Now if he's playing out of his mind and the Rangers are say 6th place... well then trade him.
But if they're first place and it looks like you can't afford him in the offseason.... then you have to self rent unfortunately. And if you win the SC then it isn't so awful.

General comment here.

I do not believe that anyone posting here actually WANTS to move Miller. If they do, for whatever reason, they are wrong.

That said, if the right deal came along where we could improve the team and Miller is the main asset with small adds going the other way, I don't have an issue with it.

Doesn't mean I don't want the player, just means that I recognize the need to offer something substantial to get something substantial back.

I'd rather limit the assets headed out in a deal than overpay in assets to keep anyone in particular.

wait why are people desperately trying to ditch Miller?
For me, it’s not that I advocate that he should be traded yet I believe he should start the upcoming season in Hartford.
From my observation he does not use his body effectively. On almost all the times that I’ve see him this season he will skate alongside an opponent either behind his own net or along the boards in the defensive zone and I can’t once remember him taking the body to separate an attacking opponent from the puck. Instead he waits for the players to move the puck and then moves on. Also when defending in front of his own net he’s too far out trying to stay in the shooting lane and is not concerned or aware of an opponent who is standing on top of the crease.
In Hartford hopefully he will be taught how to use his body to defend and also add snarl to his game.
So because of the depth the Rangers have at that position I would not be opposed if he was part of a trade that addresses any of the team’s immediate or future needs.
