Seems like it's becoming a habit...At what point does this become a massive problem with Chytil?
Are we just hoping he grows out of it

been trying to get Chytil and Kreider together for years. The few shifts they accidentally have together look so good but they refuse to try it outSomething to remember…a few years ago Chytil and Kreider played together (I think Mika was hurt) and they were very productive together. There may be some there there.
Laf-zib-kakko
Panarin-trocheck-krav
Kreider-chytil-gaut
Blais-goody-vesey
Run that lineup out once chytil is healthy again and don’t change it till the deadline
After the trade deadline:
Laf-Zib-Kakko
Kreider-Troch-Kane
Blais-Chytil-Gaut
Motte-Goody-Vessey
Pretty obvious who I'm trading for Kane here, but for those who struggle with that sort of thing, it's Bread and Krav. And yeah I know Bead has a no trade, but he's the worst 5v5 player on the team, and lately sucks on the PP. Find a way. Most of his points come from giving the puck to Fox and watching Fox do something great with it. Rangers have other options for that particular skill.
Chicago gets a prospect in Krav and they can still flip Bread for draft picks.
Keep Kane around or don't after this year. You have the space now, and let's face it, he's better than Bread for less money if you want to keep him.
The Blais hate here is really weird to me. He and Gaut have arguably been the two best 5v5 players on the team no matter what center they've drew the assignment. They DESERVE a shot on the third line. And this particular one with Chytil would be a straight line nightmare for teams.
Doesn't have to be Motte on the fourth. Just somebody like him...or Brod is fine too.
Tyler Motte has 0g, 0a, 0p, -5 in his last 10 games.
Who the f*** cares about Tyler Motte. I must be stroking out right now.
Tyler Motte is still miles better than Sammy Blais. Even if Motte doesn't register a single point, he's valuable on the PK. Blais does nothing.
And if he gets hurt Brodzinski or Carpenter can play there. As long as Gauthier and Goodrow are there the 4th line shouldn't be an issue. If I'm adding something its a LD for Schneider to play with.I liked Motte, but I agree with others - the 4th line and the PK hasn't really been an issue and Blais is improving week to week - he'll be a force on that 4th line come spring time.
I think he showed flashes of having that kind of talent early last season before he got hurt. Haven’t seen it since.I still remember when people were campaigning for Blais as a top six caliber support player, good times, lol.
Didn’t Friedman say that Trotz isn’t happeningListening to Vince’s pod this morning, sure sounds like Gallant is definitely on the hot seat at the moment, mentioned that there is definitely interest in Trotz if things get to that point
I don't think Trotz is a fit for our freewheeling stars in any case. Trotz is a stickler for details, many of our NMC guys are simply not a fit for that kind of hockey.Didn’t Friedman say that Trotz isn’t happening
I don’t think Vince is plugged in like that, will trust Friedman over him

Were guys like OV and Backstrom when Trotz went to Washington? How did that turn out?I don't think Trotz is a fit for our freewheeling stars in any case. Trotz is a stickler for details, many of our NMC guys are simply not a fit for that kind of hockey.
Rydahl, to my eyes, looked like a better option in preseason. We're very thin at the C position, organizationally, so I think Drury is scared Carpenter won't make it through waivers. Rydahl is waiver-exempt, so he can be sent up and down at will. However, I think the desire to accumulate a bit of cap space for the deadline is stopping them from calling anyone up.It's pretty sad we don't have anyone in Hartford who's better than carpenter. The guy stinks.
So Ovi is a generational exception, how does that not underline my point even more? Trotz gave up on forcing his system on this one guy and his setup guy after it was clear he just wasn't made for it.Were guys like OV and Backstrom when Trotz went to Washington? How did that turn out?
Everyone except Panarin, probably. So Ovi is a generational exception, how does that not underline my point even more? Trotz gave up on forcing his system on this one guy and his setup guy after it was clear he just wasn't made for it.
Which players on this Ranger roster do you think would thrive under Trotz?
I heard that he traveled with the teamDid Chytil travel with the team on the road trip or stay in NY?

Revisionist garbleThe entire defense and Shesterkin. Miller in particular would murder it in Trotz's system as he's basically Barry's wet dream.
Trotz is smart enough where if he has a superstar player, he will leave them alone to do their own thing. Has nothing to do with them not being made for a system and everything to do with him not being an idiot. The only player on this team who is like that and also borderline uncoachable is Panarin so that won't really change.
Does that mean that he is a good fit here overall? Not necessarily, but I think you over estimate how much of this roster is free wheeling as you put it. It's really just Panarin. Mika can play good 2 way hockey when he wants to and under Trotz he wouldn't have a choice.
