It's pretty much impossible to land Pettersson unless you are get getting rid of one of Pararin/Trouba/Kreider.

And than you still have to pay him massive money when his contract expires in 3 years.

Is that the deal? Bread included in any deal with nucks along with Laf or Oth or 1st"s? Miller,Horvat and Pettersen all in the mix? Its too crazy!

Like he may never return thanks to his injury but a Paul Byron type or two would be a tonic.

I know its @huerter, but he's brought up Labanc and if the Sharks retained 50 percent he'd be a really good acquisition. His playdriving numbers are and have been good, he could play on any of the top 3 lines and he's been productive. Plus he's from Staten Island. I don't think he'd cost a ton either.
even at 50%, he's a lot of money. It's doable but $2.75M for a couple seasons... maybe a 3rd team involved?

Get Motte and Labanc in a 3way deal? SJS eat 50% on Motte. OTT eat money on both?

Kreider Zibs Kakko
Panarin Chytil Kravtsov
Laffy Trocheck Labanc
Motte Goodrow Vesey/Gauthier

At half retention it's about 2.3M, don't know if double retention is necessary.

Speed.

Benoit Pouliot
Jayson Chimera
Grabner

Get me complementary pieces who can stretch the ice and make life easier in the neutral zone for Laf, Kakko, Panarin. We need speed players to mix into the lines.

I think thats kind of right.

I won't deny that it would help, but what this team could really use is a multi zone carrier of the puck. Outside of spurts from Chytil, Zibanejad and Miller (and I really wonder if he's being told NOT to do this, he certainly could if he wanted to and has pretty great success when he attempts to), we have no one who really does this.

I'll say this though, a ton of puck movement in today's NHL has become high chips into the NZ and hope that your guys come up with it so yeah the speed thing helps there. Teams are pretty good at snuffing out rushes.

The obsession with Motte with fans of this team for a guy that played for a few months Is questioning. Did all you guys used to date? Move on. Other and better UFA players to worry about. Rather go after Bertuzzi or maybe a guy like Erne or Barbashev or Auston Watson, someone more useful.

Austin Watson to Rangers for 3rd in 2023?
Ivan Barbashev to Rangers for Jones and 2ed?
Adam Erne to Rangers for Skinner and 4th
Vladislav Gavrikov to Rangers for Libor Hajek and 3rd in 24

Rangers waive send down Blais, Brodzinski and trade Gauthier for 4th or 5th like Arizona or some non playoff team

Watson would provide the grit that Reaves brought. Better player. Watson can PK and take faceoffs

Kreider Mika Vesey
Panarin Trocheck Kravtsov
Lafy Chytil Kakko
Goodrow/Leschyschyn Barbashev/Watson Ernie

Adam Fox is making $9.5.

I don't see Miller making less than 75% of what Fox makes, which comes in just north of $7.
It really depends on how long he is signed for. Fox was a long term deal including free agency years. If Miller is bridged for 2-3 years AAV will be lower.

Gavrikov is going to cost a first. Watson is a piece of shit human but the Rangers could use a nasty player of his caliber. Erne is intriguing and Barbashev is a guy I always forget about but is really good fit. Mikkola from the Blues as well.

Mikkola is gonna go for a 2ed. He is one of the most underrated players in my opinion. Gavrikov I dont think is gonna cost more than a 2ed. I can see him costing less than what expected. I can see a guy like Luke Schenn costing more. if he was a LD, Schenn would be a good option.

7 years, 7 per year; brings Miller to age 29
50M for Miller, 8 x 6.25M per.
How do we fit those contracts, while also needing to re-sign Laf, Kakko, Chytil, etc?

Those numbers sound fine, in theory. In reality, the Rangers *have* to bridge him just to put a roster together.

It's a bad position to be in because it means we're going to get crushed by his long-term contract after that, but this is the short-term win now mentality this organization seems to try to skate by with every year.
