We are such a bad hockey team lately

I was thinking about it a few days ago, but didnt want to set a jinx.

The best thing for Laf would be an injury to allow him to play up in the lineup.

He needs to take this opportunity and do something with it
The "Laf is underperforming because of his lack of PP time" camp is shaking in their boots right about now

really though, this is a crucial point for him. Almost wish players defer to him a bit to get his skates wet

Depends on team structure but with todays lineup I take prime Richards though as others have noted he was never the same after his concussion a year before he left Dallas.

Good thing for us we got out of that contract at exactly the right time, just like with Stepan and Brassard.

Not to digress but in that theme I wouldn’t be shocked if we actually got a big return for Trouba including a young roster player in a summer deal.
Interesting so many favor Richards who if I remember correctly even in his prime was not 1C on his teams, at least not for extended time like we have with Zibanejad.

Big moment for Laf. I think he has a good game on that line, he knows this is a massive opportunity. Get a good nights sleep kid!
Laf showed in the playoffs he’s got a knack for big moments. Let’s see what he can do.

Nope. He has an opportunity. Im even hoping CK is out a few games. CK getting "wally pipp'd" would be the best thing for the rangers ever.

He absolutely was in Dallas (he, Eriksson and Neal were their big line).
TBL was a bit more convoluted because he was behind Vinny L but they moved MSL around a bit and whichever line he was on became the 1st. They also ran both VL and him on PP1

looked like he was the main c instead of lecavalier in tampa. that line with st louis and stillman was badass.

I think more people would be saying prime Zibanejad if the 2019-2020 season was played to completion.

Don't care what is best for Laf only what is best for Rangers. Losing Kreider sucks and hurts the team. Know what tell Laf to suck it up and start playing like a number 1 draft choice should and then the team will be better for it. This whole thought by some that the injury to Kreider can be a blessing in disguise is plain ignorant.

That season for ZBad is what last season for Kreider was for me. A case where a guy converted like 3/4ths of his his scoring chances for a whole season just because he was feeling his hands the whole season.

Zibby has been a 80 point guy and Kreider a (roughly) 30 goal guy outside those years. But which of them has the touch as far as power play goals (Zibby, Kreider, Panarin) has a big effect on the goal numbers.

Are you serious. No real Ranger fan hopes that one of the stars of the team is out for a while and certainly wally pipp'd as you said. What is wrong with you. This team is battling for a playoff spot and every game a top goal scorer and player like Kreider is out hurts its chances. I can't believe people on this board post such garbage. Go root for some other team your not a real fan.

That was a great line. Eriksson was such a solid player. Loved him in the Dallas days. Shame what concussions and injuries did to his career.

As for the Rangers, I've been a Laf defender all year. I'm really hoping he takes advantage of this opportunity and looks the part tomorrow.

For those that want Puljujarvi. he takes a lot of bad offensive zone penalties. Not a fan of his at all. Soft on the puck. he would piss off Rangers fans.

Relax. No one is suggesting Kreider being seriously injured is desirable. Just hoping Laf takes the chance and runs with it.

I figured it all out.

Miller has the same points as Chytil and more than any other kid. He used to be a forward. He’s a giant and he’s pretty good defensively.

Trade whatever you want for a top 4 LD and make Key a forward. He’d probably instantly be our most threatening forward on a shift by shift basis and with his size and skating he’s basically Tage Thompson waiting to happen. Could even be a Selke candidate after being a D man.

Maybe instead of importing defenders, they should just keep developing them?

Instead of trading for any defender, why not see what happens with Robertson who will be in his last entry level year next season? If he takes a similar trajectory as Schneider, it's be a lot better to utilize him than to trade assets for some other more cap expensive defender who will need a new contract in a couple years.
