Ok, here we go, it’s time for Kakko to go on the first PP unit with Kreider out. Trocheck can take Kreiders spot in front of the net which he was amazing at in previous years on the PP with the Canes. Don’t want to hear “oh no we cant have Kakko play bumper”, who gives a shit, he isn’t tied down to not being allowed to move, he can still move around all he wants, it’s called being creative.

would love to see Kakko get Kreiders pp time but I feel like they will give to Chytil.

Agree not terrible. Chytil has a decent shot. If they get some zone time send Goodrow to the net like he did last night and Chytil shoot the puck when possible.

Agree about Jones. He can be a good player elsewhere. He will never play the offensive role he needs with the Rangers.

Im not saying I'd do it but Lafreniere for Chychrun seems like it would appeal to both teams.

I honestly wouldn't take that chance, and I'm not even worried about having egg on my face or losing my job if/when Laf starts playing to his potential. Giving up on a 1OA just turned 21 3 months ago is a gigantic risk. IMO Chychrun is NOT worth that. And NYR management certainly wont take that risk.

While i like getting laf more of an opportunity, i feel bad for chytil. He is left with nothing.

at 5 on 5 this year, when Miller and Fox are paired, they have a ~65% xGF and CF.

I absolutely understand not wanting to stack the top pair but like, some of Fox's offense is wasted with Lindgren who is pretty bad offensively, and Miller's positioning and ability to walk the ice is wasted since he's always looking over his shoulder to cover for Trouba.

This isn't really a complaint, Fox and Lindgren are the best D pair in the NHL this year (I checked), but I think there is merit to putting those two together. We'd be on a 5 on 5 powerplay most of the game.

We'll see. He's in an epic funk and there's no guarantee goodrow isn't in that spot by the second period. Hope he can make something of it. Test of character more than anything, can he buck up and play his own game with the big boys or does he spend his time there watching and reacting. Lately it's been a lot of the latter...

I think at the rate Schneider continues to develop it'll make it easier to unload Trouba at the first opportunity. I can't say the same for LW. No one is pushing Kreider out.... yet.
