Playing with Panarin helps but you are spot on. In Strome's case his point production is fine but he lacks in so many other aspects.
Think Edmonton circles back for Buch? They’re the team that always seems to make the most sense for him based on needs. Holloway would be a real nice addition as a young center to the teams prospect pool and the Rangers liked him last year, correct? It would be similar value to what was on the table a couple of years ago
He means with. There was a Finnish contingent within the Waffen SS Nord - Wiking Division seeded with vets from the 1940 Winter War. It was actually sponsored by the Finnish govt. They were later found by their own government of committing atrocities in Ukraine.I think "fought with" means "fought against". Or maybe I just hope that's what he means.
If Tkachuk was a Center he would be the #1 target. Unfortunately, he is not.Brooks wants us to trade for Tkachuk... I get he’s like the exact kind of player we need but we have like 42 wingers and 3 with crazy high ceilings already not even counting Kreider. You win cups with a good middle we haven’t learned this yet?
Wondering if you can get a hold of one of those young centers out of LA for Buchnevich. Obviously aren’t going to get Byfield or Turcotte, but that’s a hell of a landing spotI think it's possible, though Edmonton seems like the type that wouldn't offer up Holloway and doesn't have much to offer if he's off the table.
There are some people who think Florida could have an interest depending on how they look in the playoffs. While conventional wisdom says you don't move young talent, this is also a franchise that has waited a long, long time to be in this position. There's a lot of chatter that they've got their stars in their primes, they've got one of the best coaches in the sport, and this is their window to make some noise. They have to make a statement.
I wouldn't rule out someone like Los Angeles as a dark horse candidate.
I've heard the Jets, Habs and Yotes mentioned in speculation. But some of those teams are in the same boat as the Oilers in the sense that when you take one or two interesting pieces off the table it becomes much harder to find a match.

The better move would be to acquire Lindholm and acquire Larkin/Hertl. Trade Buch, Strome, Chytil. Sign Foligno and Goodrow.
Lafreniere-Zibanejad-Kreider
Panarin-Lindholm-Kakko
Foligno-Larkin/Hertl-Kravtsov
Barron-Goodrow-Blackwell
If salary permitted it, I would try and add Coleman next to Goodrow to upgrade Blackwell. I would even take Boyle over Blackwell. Barron could learn A LOT from Boyle. Lindholm would be the key acquisition because his salary is affordable, allowing for the Rangers to sign Foligno and Goodrow. But that lineup makes much deeper and tougher to play against.
True, and for that same reason I can't see both of Kakko and Kravtsov in the top-6 at RW.Rangers (well Dolan) expects them to be better. If that’s the mandate Chytil has no shot being 2nd line center probably ever
I agree. My neighbor when I was young, and close friend despite being close to 70 (he didn't have any kids of his own and always let me ride in his tractor when he was cleaning the streets from snow during the winter) broke his leg when I was maybe 8-9, it wasn't pretty, they were moving an excavator from one truck to another and a chain broke and he was caught under it, but he just said 'I ain't going to a doctor, if you go into a hospital you will never get out, there will be no more discussions about it'. His wife of course got worried and some family members tried to talk sense to him, but it went as far as him brining the shot-gun next to him on the sofa to show that he meant business, and he was the type who would have used it no doubt, volunteer in Finland during the war who went on and fought with the SS and had a temper like nothing I've ever seen. 4-5 weeks later he died. He and his wife only ate potatoes, eggs, hard bread and fish (perch/whitefish/burbot). Today that is some diet, but did it help him from surgery? It is still a touchy subject for me, if you need to see a doctor, go and see a doctor.
Buch to FLA?
Lundell. Lundell. Lundell.

Lindholm is not bad defensively. He has received some Selke attention the last two years — even if it was minimal, it was still voting received. He is a career 52.2% on Faceoffs. He has averaged 20 minutes of TOI the last 3 years. A positive possession player with a pretty even offensive and defensive zone start chart, which means he is trusted on both sides of the puck. He won’t come cheap, considering his affordable salary. How is Lindholm defensively? He actually makes almost as much as Strome but he is signed for 3 more years wow that’s a great contract. Is he even an option to be available with that contract?

give me Marcus Foligno and Boone Jenner this offseason

Interesting. I wonder exactly what this means. I have a feeling that it may be more related to JD going after less than 2 years. I can't imagine that that firing sat well with NYR alumni. Its a real punch in the gut to guys like Gilbert I feel like. The real litmus is what Adam Graves does. If he leaves then what happened last week was about as big an earthquake in Ranger land as there ever has been in my lifetime. And i've been a fan for 35 years.
This is both incredibly interesting and also probably an incredibly dull nothingburger
Probably just because Messier wants him to be his assistant on the bench with him.
Dvorak + Crouse would be interesting from Arizona. Would kill two birds...
