Herniated discs in the neck are no joke. That's a seriously concerning injury and if it's degenerative and begins to impact other vertebrate it will definitely lower Eichel's value substantially.. it could very well end his career at worst but will definitely have an impact going forward. . I want nowhere near a bidding war for someone with an injury like that.

The Drury quote within 24 hours of the firings that we're not doing anything drastic and we're staying the course should be a top seller in the embroidered quotes throw pillow market this off season. I don't think any deal that involves a kid, a roster player, subtracting $10M in salary worth of players will make us better next year with a broken Jack and certainly not in the long run.

Why would any team trade anything of significant value for Eichel with the multitude of injuries he has?

Eichel has to get on the ice to prove his abilities haven't diminished. Neck or back injury that may require surgery is a flashing red light. Is he even gonna be healthy enough to play next season?

Buffalo is really in a bind. If they don't move him before next summer a NMC kicks in. How do you get top value for a broken player who can't STFU?

Why would anyone trade for a broken player who can't STFU and throws his toys out the pram? Unfortunately for the Rangers they have that guy as owner so here we are.

No doubt Dolan has basically ordered the Rangers to get the deal done, but with LA able to offer at least as good a deal a bidding war could get expensive. And with JD and Gorton out of the picture in a bidding war situation the restrictions are not set in stone anymore.

Minnesota has interesting protection issues. I can see a few answers from them in one move, which in my opinion is the way to go like Ockham's razor. Maybe Buch? Maybe Strome? Perhaps we just move a pick.

If the previous regime was here, I'd agree with this. With Drury at the helm and with Dolan pulling the strings, the Rangers could be anywhere from winning the division to picking in the lottery again next summer.

Losing four first round picks, including potentially Shane Wright, Brad Lambert, or the Russian plus three more 1st rounders would be yet another "egg in face" moment for this franchise.

And for that, I'm out.

You don't even need to go that high. 2 firsts, a second, and a third is the $8.7-10.9 million tier. Petterson is worth that easy.

Let me put it like this:
- Around 6'4"
- Around 210 lbs
- Shoots right
- Is not really a 1st pairing defensman
- Is a bit suspect defensively, makes some dumb plays time from time
- Is at least to be able to provide offense, how much really depends on PP
- Around 0,45 PPG for his NHL career
- Does provide some sandpaper with hits, and cleaning up the crease

How much of this doesn't sound like Jacob Trouba? We already have our man. Now, I do belive Trouba is better defensively. As bad as Buffalo has been through the years, the differense in+- is almost 200 in favor of Trouba with 25 games less played. But other than that, they are very much identical.

Agree. Steer clear.

Vancouver matches anything under $11 million even if it means trading a significant piece like Boeser to stay under the cap. The Rangers would have to go into the 4 first rounder threshold to get Vancouver to not match, IMO.

I would call on Bo Horvat and Elias Lindholm. Its very likely neither team will be interested in moving them, but lets do our due diligence before going in on Eichel.

There's absolutely zero chance Vancouver doesn't match whatever they need to match. It's been mentioned that they've set aside something like $17.5M to split between Q.Hughes and Petterson this off season on a pair of medium term deals. They're in some cap trouble obviously but nothing that can't be resolved by incentivizing a team with a 2nd round pick+ to take Eriksson's $6M AAV contract.

Eichel is complaining about no decision regarding an operation and laying that at the organizations door, but has he had a clear assessment from medical experts? If the doctors can't agree how to treat the condition that's another matter. Maybe some experts say it needs an operation, but others don't agree and there are risks with both approaches I can see the uncertainty leading to a delay. Who would trust team doctors as the basis for an opinion of a trade of this magnitude, without a second opinion from outside? Meanwhile Eichel raises a stink because he wants out yday, but no team dare make a trade until the situation clears up a bit.

I'm taking any Drury words at this point with a huge grain of salt. It's not that I don't trust him, especially because he's been here the whole time and been a part of everything, but that Dolan is now actively involved and handpicked this guy so there is going to changes made to this roster that may be considered large. I'm not saying he's a Kevyn Adams level simp for ownership, but Dolan is watching, and he just fired two very very good hockey people because things weren't happening fast enough. Drury may have a leash here but how long it is is still to be determined.

The team is looking to add players specifically that are hard to play against.

Lots of talk about Eichel. Lots of talk about Larkin.

I like Eichel, he's got a lot of talent. Hasen't established himself as the elite player he was supposed to be, but he is super talented.
I like Dylan Larkin too. Another talented guy who has shown he's close but he's not quite there.

As much as I like both players mentioned, i've never considered either "Hard to play against?"

I'm betting on Dolan's attention span shortening out and a coaching change plus a few big body adds and a few minor trades to satisfy Dolan. He only cared when his team was being emasculated.

I did not want to pay the price for Eichel when he was healthy. I sure as shit do not want to pay the price with that extensive injury list and neck/spine issues.

Not only that, this guy is absolutely shitting his own nest right now too. What a moron. He hasn't been traded yet, but he is shitting on his franchise, team mates, everyone associated with the Sabres with his childish behavior. Obviously this guy is just the right person for the Ranger locker room (not).
