Something stinks here and all signs point to both Sather AND Drury.

If there really was an issue with the "culture" and Drury has been around long enough to have been an integral part of building that culture, how is it that when the dust settles JG and JD are gone and CD gets both spots with that overrated POS Sather consulting.

Sather has to be the most overrated front office guy the NHL has ever seen.

Seriously, who on planet earth overrates Sather other than Dolan?

The sabres don’t want to rebuild again though they want nhl players.

after the year Strome and Buchnevich just had I’d have to think they’d both be part of the offer to Buffalo along with a first round pick in 2021 which is the year to trade it.

And wouldn’t be surprised if Jones is part of that too

Not stalking you but again I agree with the sentiment but rather see Kreider and Strome be the base. Add 1st rounder and ZJ and make the trade.

We know LA has the perfect assets for an Eichel trade..but what about Boston? They have Krejci coming off the books, Bergeron is 35 and eventually needs to start slowing down.

I'm just trying to find hope for someone else to swoop in so we don't make a mistake.

Next year Buffalo and Boston will be in the same division all be it a different division than this years. I would be surprised if the Sabres want to see Eichel that often over the next 5 years.

With all the NHL-ready guys we have with expiring contracts, I feel like it could be a three-way deal if it's us.
Wouldn't mind being the laundering team in any deal for Eichel. Would either be 5 years at 2.5 million if Buffalo retains 50% or 5 years at 1.875 million if the Sabres retain 25%. Either way we could walk away with Players/Prospects or Picks just for cap space. 2022 and even more so 2023 looks to be very promising drafts.

I think we’re more likely to be the team that gets him as opposed to helping another team get him. Don’t think Dolan wants to be paying for a player for the next 5 years who isn’t helping us win.

Boston same division and doesn’t have anywhere near the liquid assets that LA or we do.

Everyone is trying to connect a bunch of dots scattered around MSG by irrational, spoiled man-baby, owner. This was personal. Maybe he was really mad seeing the Islanders and Caps manhandle a depleted team but then why keep a guy who was on the same page as the two guys that got shown the door? And thank God Sather is back and the only person standing in the way of this team and Dolan.

Do you remember Sathers first 4 years here?

It wasn't until the league imposed spending limits that he stopped trading youth for age.

Hes not got a good track record when he has this many toys and a mandate to get better

Eichel + 5 million RETAINED by Buffalo for Chytil, Howden, Kreider and like, whatever scraps you want. Eichel sits out the entire year and comes back 2022-2023 when we are ready to roll
Eichel with salary retained is the only way I could see a deal work for us cap-wise. CK ain't going anywhere though because of his NMC. I hope Drury has to sense to stop giving those out to players. They are just bad bad bad for teams.

Did a 25 year old Chytil arrive in a DeLorean?
Meant Villardi 3rd line.

If Dumba staying in Minnesota

Wild Strome
NYR Greenway Mn 2nd (22). Reports say either Foligno or Greenway will be exposed. Would take Foligno if 23 3rd included. Then

LAK - Buch
NYR - Villardi 22( 2nd).

I sure do, it was not great. But I can guarantee you it was much better than if you had Dolan running wild unattended.

Eichel with salary retained will be freakishly expensive, even if he is raising a stink to get out. And his NMC kicks in next summer too :)

Chytil
Lunkqvist
Jones or Robinson
1st 2021
Cond. 2nd 2022 (becomes 1st if Rangers win a round)

that’s my early guess.

Here's the thing.

We know what Sather can/will do.

We dont know what Dolan will do as he was only installed as head honcho in 1999.

So its not like he has a track record of incompetence with the NYR the way Sather does
