I don’t think they have enough offense without Buchnevich and I don’t think this is a playoff team right now unless Kravtsov goes nuts.

Again I think it 100% depends on how much Kakko improves offensively this year. If he doesn't, yeah we're in trouble and that pick is looking troubling. If he does...and we assume Laf improves, I think the offense is there and it will hopefully be a bit more varied than last season (which was a big problem...lots of off the rush and quick strike stuff instead of any forecheck and cycle)

If you're down on Kakko in general though yeah it doesn't look great

I love Buch I just think if we can assume improvement from the young talent and high draft picks, then losing him isn't going to kill the team

Jankowski barely played for Pittsburgh, he might well be a cheap option for 4C. 3C if Strome is moved.

Ritchie would fit the mold, but he's another winger.

Roonie is already a cheap 4c but I haven't checked to see who might have better analytics (I think Roonie is pretty meh but at least he's already signed)

If Strome was moved without a C coming back I'd assume Chytil and Goodrow slot in as your 2 and 3 C

I’m convinced that Kakko is having Rick Nash’s career in reverse. I think he will be useful in a defensive role, but I don’t think we are going to get consistent NHL offense out of him as expected when he was drafted. Again I could be wrong, but that offense needs to take a leap. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t but the longer it doesn’t the harder he gets to slot in to the top six, especially if as rumored Panarin didn’t want to play with him.
I would be interested to see if the Rangers lean in though and try to make a real shutdown caliber line. If you brought in Danault to center Kakko, that is 2 of the 3 best defensive forwards in the league from last season right there. Would be interesting.

I think Rooney definitely comes back as 4C. I don’t know why they would protect him over Blackwell if the plan was not for Rooney to have a role again this season. Would be really silly roster management

I mean I will wait to see the numbers on Ritchie’s next deal, but I’d rather have Ritchie over six years of Goodrow and kept Buchnevich.

Yeah I don't really know, he needs Gallant to trust him more than Quinn did and I think we'll see a marked improvement, but I'm generally trying to be on the optimistic side. His analytics took such a drastic turn from year 1 to year 2 that it shows me he is capable of dramatic improvements in his game and the offensive skill is there, he just needs to get that part to "click"

For sure, I think the Rangers are happy with him as 4C and he's cheap as cheap can get

IF IF IF chytil is deal in a package for a 2c and suter goes unqualified in Chicago he could be a target.
