I could still see Seattle trading for Tarasenko and getting a pick to take the contract.

Yeah, only thing that makes sense is that that the Kraken can't announce trades or deals until the freeze is over for all teams. Otherwise, oh boy Francis.

It doesn’t even make sense. Even if Francis’ asking price was too high for teams’ tastes, why take a player like Carsen Twarynski? I pride myself on knowing virtually 99.9% of players in every organization and I had no clue this person existed. They could have taken JVR or Ghost for free, retained a bit if they didn’t want them and gotten something in return. Twarynski is literally as valuable as signing me would be. Quennville is a UFA in 7 days. He’s a nothing player. They could have simply called him next week and said “hey, wanna sign for league minimum?” and had him for free. They couldn’t find value in DeHaan, Gaudette or Zadorov over that? They didn’t even NEED trades to do a better job. They literally just chose 4-5 absolutely horrific choices.
