One thing about the Eichel trade before the draft was that players like Robertson and Jones were likely of interest for Buffalo. Now, those players probably are of little interest. When you have spent two #1 overall picks on left handed defensemen, you're not acquiring one in a trade. That's your left side for a decade. It removes one of the stronger and deeper positions on the Rangers prospect depth chart.
You are going to have to add in one of Schneider or Lundkvist. Their need at that position is high. It would just be smart to include one of them there. Up front, you would also think that Buffalo is looking for centers. Cozens and Mittelstadt are their top two centers, both high picks, but this draft they took all wingers after Power with their additional first and 2nd rounders.
If I'm putting together the potential package it would be:
Chytil, Schneider, 2022 1st, and Georgiev.
Buffalo has Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen that is their top goalie prospect, but are they going to shop for a veteran or someone that can fill 1A shoes for a few years while he establishes himself. Sabres haven't had a good goalie since Lehner was there, and before him it was Ryan Miller. If one more small piece needs to be added.
I wouldn't be willing to add any more. That's more than enough for Eichel at this stage. Other teams don't have the pieces we do and the rumored Vegas offer is not better than this.
