So Georges Laraque is saying Danault to Vegas. If that is accurate I would assume Vegas is out of the Eichel race.
Landeskog stayed in Colorado. Not sure if they were truly ever in the Eichel race.

You would think Buffalo could lose some potential suitors if they address needs via free agency, but per LeBrun they are not bothered by that.

On Jack Eichel, my sense from talking to a few people around the league is that Buffalo is in serious talks with multiple teams, the process hasn't zeroed in on just one team yet. And I don't think the Sabres feel it has to be done today if they don't get the package they want...

One thing about the Eichel trade before the draft was that players like Robertson and Jones were likely of interest for Buffalo. Now, those players probably are of little interest. When you have spent two #1 overall picks on left handed defensemen, you're not acquiring one in a trade. That's your left side for a decade. It removes one of the stronger and deeper positions on the Rangers prospect depth chart.

You are going to have to add in one of Schneider or Lundkvist. Their need at that position is high. It would just be smart to include one of them there. Up front, you would also think that Buffalo is looking for centers. Cozens and Mittelstadt are their top two centers, both high picks, but this draft they took all wingers after Power with their additional first and 2nd rounders.

If I'm putting together the potential package it would be:

Chytil, Schneider, 2022 1st, and Georgiev.

Buffalo has Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen that is their top goalie prospect, but are they going to shop for a veteran or someone that can fill 1A shoes for a few years while he establishes himself. Sabres haven't had a good goalie since Lehner was there, and before him it was Ryan Miller. If one more small piece needs to be added.

I wouldn't be willing to add any more. That's more than enough for Eichel at this stage. Other teams don't have the pieces we do and the rumored Vegas offer is not better than this.

Personally, I think it's a bluff. They can only carry on so long until the only suitors they do actually have, have moved on and committed salary elsewhere. I do believe that they know they need to move him in short order.

Buffalo has to know it has to be done today or soon atleasr because teams will take themselves out if its left too long and start signing free agents and they'll be left with less dance partners.

You obviously don't know Schneider as a prospect if you think he's just a big canadian plug. He's a grade A d prospect for a reason, not because he's big.
Schneider is a great prospect, but he isnt as great as Nils. They are both very good, but Schneider does not have anywhere near the ceiling that Nils has. These boards are convinced the kid is Pronger 2.0

I like the deal even if I'm against Schneider leaving, im doubful Georgiev is the sweatener though, likely something more than that.

What about Miller? Thought Sabres were hot on him?

zero reason to trade for Eichel, who will spend most of this season on the IR. Makes even less sense to trade for him before his NMC kicks in and while there are multiple interested teams.

Dont trade for him at all, but if Dolan/Drury/Sather feel like they need to, at least wait until we have leverage.

K’andre Miller isn’t for sale haha

And I don’t know why Buffalo would need him now they just drafted Power and have Dahlin on the left as well

I’m super high on our kids including Miller but for some reason I thought the main “prospect”going back was Miller (even though he’s not a prospect anymore)

If the “mandate” from Dolan is to make the playoffs, how can Drury even contemplate trading for a guy who might miss a big chunk of the season? When it comes to Eichel, just say NO!

Because he still has Zibanejad and Strome

Buf fans think if they trade with the Rangers it will have to be

Lafreniere
Strome or Zibanejad
Schneider or Nils
1st

You lost me at "La...

Honestly id rather overpay for Danault than even think about this trade anymore

I've seen some say Lafreniere+Fox isn't enough. There are some real delusional people up there

The other prevailing thought on their board when I looked last night is they’re positive Kakko is a bust and don’t want him

these people don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground

There are two Eichel prices. The Rangers and Habs will need to pay more. The western conference teams can get the player for less. The Sabres don’t want Eichel in their division or playing for the Rangers.

I read on an IG post a couple days ago, that Pegulla doesn't want Eichel onthe East Coast at any cost.

Unless Hell froze over, being overly involved in Hockey Ops has been both the Pegullas modus operandi.

I can understand not wanting to trade him in your division (Montreal) but who tf cares if he's in the same conference? They worried about battling for WC spots? By the time Buffalo is a playoff team, Eichel will be a grandfather.
