My thought is that Drury made his offer for Eichel with a expiration time. Maybe an hour before he sweetens the offer a bit.

Plan A: Eichel, but only on or close to the Rangers terms.

Plan B: Danault, for the right price, knowing that Drury's price and the fanbase's price may differ.

Plan C: Add a bottom sixer or 2, overpay some vets on 1 year deals, save some space to see what shakes out as the season progresses.

After seeing Drury's moves this offseason, you would think that he would have the same thought of Nils before Schneider.

Having Lindgren Trouba Miller Robertson and soon Nemeth allows you to trade Schneider before Lundkvist. Thinking Schneider is better and more needed just because he’s a big ol canadian boy is buffoonery. Fox can’t carry all the offense by himself and Jones < Lundkvist.

Rangers need to smarten up and figure out a way to flex their financial muscle much in the same way that Tax Friendly states exploit that added benefit that most other teams do not enjoy.

well, the exciting City is the big offering while Fla you get the tax relief and weather. Somewhere in the middle is Nashville who has a pretty entertaining city and tax relief. Texas is so/so imo. The rest . . . Idk

Eichel being out half the season is likely not extreme, Strome being traded is likely if we aquire Eichel, mika getting hurt isn't that far fetched

Well, then as long as Chytl doesn't go in the Eichel deal, we'll find out definitively if he can carry the water as a top 6 center.

You obviously don't know Schneider as a prospect if you think he's just a big canadian plug. He's a grade A d prospect for a reason, not because he's big.

We are still in the rebuilding stage of this development. I really don't see the need to trade our centers just to make lateral moves. The team still has no idea of what to expect from Laf, Kako and the chemistry of all these 3rd and 4th line players. Next year is going to be a feeling out process with the prize being a PO spot not contention. We had a good decent offense with the centers that were already here and the thought of adding a Danault, Kuznetsov, Monahan,Larkin etc are nothing better than lateral moves minus the chemistry unknowns. I like the Eichel idea but I hate the asking price for a player with a potential career ending cross check that is soooo prevalent in todays game and is looked upon as a boys will be boys joke. I am not too thrilled with todays FA players.

100%

Lundkvist is better than Schneider, full stop. People think Schneider is untouchable because of that video they put out of JD being excited to draft him

Guess what folks, JD ain’t here no more lol

But Gallant is here and Schneider just played for him. Not sure why some feel Nils is untouchable

Also, RE: Lando - $7 a year is like nothing, but I'm sure the Avs felt the sting on the 8 years. He took less money to stay where he wanted to be, and got rewarded with the years. Paging Mika.

This is the post I responded to:

I can tell you now Breadman's gonna be disenfranchised if Strome is gone. First, Blackwell, then Buch, and possibly Strome.

I don't give a rats ass what Artemi is disenfranchised about. If he's unhappy with the moves made, he can ask out.

The goal is to win a cup, not make individual players feel warm and fuzzy.

AP is the 2nd most talented player the Rangers have ever had (Jagr being the most) And I would prefer that he stays with the team fur the duration of his contract, but I am not one that is willing to bend over backwards to accommodate the feelings of one player. The team is is bigger than one player.

Well, I agree in that sense. I mean he’s one of the highest paid players in the league. He’s earning more than freakin’ Ovechkin. He should be able to adapt and in a sense, not be spoiled and only want to play with his friends.

But yeah, so far, Panarin has earned every penny. He’s not as untradable as Laf or Fox, but he’s up there.

Eh, you haven't seen Drury's wild ride yet. It could legitimately be sign another bottom sixer and that's it.

I know, I’m just being a shithead. I wouldn’t mind bringing in Nick Ritchie at the right price depending if they want Barron to start the year in HFD. He’s a giant lug and slow as shit, but he’s still an effective hockey player. A bottom-6 of gritty guys that’s actually can play could be really dangerous under Gallant.

With the way some teams are skating 8s around the CBA and the cap, moving the worst contracts like they are handing out candy to kids, maybe it’s time to reconsider signing big names to brain dead contracts?..

you obviously haven’t followed Schneider

I’d be ill if we signed Mika for 8 years. I have less than no interest in paying him 1C money until he’s 37

If Rangers believe Jack will be fine long term I just can’t let a RHD behind Fox and Trouba MINIMUM 3 years hold up a deal. Of course that also depends on who else is in it already. There’s NOTHING this team needs more than a center for a Laf and Kakkos prime

Drury essentially drafted Schneider too, unless he was against the move. So you move up to get a falling stud, block the Devils in the process to get a strong right handed leader of a dman. Really one of the more perfect scenarios. You dont move that piece, I have to agree with Larry.

What bothers me most is that without Buch you have to sweeten the pot even more and its going to come in the way of a prospect. Jones is very good. He would be at the top of the list for many teams. Ditto for Schneider. Giving up both would stink. Giving up Nils would really stink. Giving up any combination of the two is too much for me. I'd rather give them 2 firsts, than any combination of the two. Just Jones is fine, especially if they want Chytil included. Its just too much for the risk that is Eichel. Unless its Strome that helps alleviate that in the deal or a 3-way - and im not so sure thats the case.

I just want this shit to be over with.

Don't disagree with you there, I went into this thinking if we got eichel without losing young roster guys like kakko, Lafreniere, fox et id be happy, if that happens i guess I still will be.
