That’s quite a contract for Montour. Reilly got 3x3 in Boston also.

I’m gladly take Eichel if the price is comparable to that ask from Vegas. Our equivalent to that would be pretty easy to part with.

Smith -> Strome
Krebs -> Kravtsov?
Hague -> Jones
1st -> 1st

Our offer would actually be better IMO
Our top 6 is making a lot of money and still going to be out scoring the opponents my a good margin as long as Panarin and Zibanejad are here. We don’t need to spend more money on the top 6 a la Toronto/Edmonton. Not to mention Eichel’s medical status and records are still behind closed doors

Unless his game changes i don't see him as a fit in the top 6 as its constructed. Maybe he adapts but I'm doubtful we start the season with him as our 2c, also its possible given his issues on faceoffs that hes on the wing with Goodrow instead of full time center. Center is a tough spot, he's young, he could grow into the 2c but i dont think thats happening this year.

Makes sense. I’d be interested in giving him more rope to see what we have there, but with the rebuild ending it doesn’t seem like we have time to wait and see

People make far too big a deal out of his faceoff numbers. Not only do young players tend to get better at the dot with experience (and Chytil's numbers jumped ~5% this year), but it's not like any of the other centers currently in / projected to be in our top six (Zib, Strome, Eichel) are any good at faceoffs either. Like Chytil, they are all under 50%. Frankly, the biggest difference is that Chytil is still young enough to get significantly better. If Chytil IS on a 3rd line with Goodrow, I'd bet that it would be with Goodrow as the RW, taking draws in key/high stakes situations (ie: splitting them so that Chytil can continue to work on getting better while Goodrow can take the ones with the game on the line). For the life of me, I will never understand the quest among some on these boards to turn Chytil into a winger. The team has played him as a C almost exclusively the last two years, we have a glaring need for young Cs and are overflowing with wingers. Moving the one good young C we have to W for ambiguous reasons (or throwing him into trades as an add on, like others do) seems insane to me.

If the reason given for moving Buch is accurate (clearing the deck for Kakko and Krav), then the team should be more than amenable to having Chytil as the 2nd line center, as he's shown far more than either of the K's. Again, though, I'd be more comfortable with another 2nd-line capable center being brought in, because right now, the team has top six centers (Zib, Strome, and Chytil) and bottom six centers who would look WAY out of place on the top two lines (Goodrow, Rooney, Barron).

He hosts a NYR podcast. Has had a bunch of former Rangers players on. So, he likely has some contacts. But that's a very vague and subjective tweet.

Yea still got me amped up. I guess this tight ship Drury runs is making it hard on us to run wild and analyze rumors when there aren't many except basically Eichel.
