Good to stay away from a deal like this. Price is 30. He may have 2/3 good years left then start to trail off. Hard to build a team when one player makes that kind of money for that long.

Elite pitchers typically don't trail off. He will hit a wall like Halladay did when he was 35.

Elite pitchers don't stop being elite at 32-33 either.

There will be 1-2 years where this deal looks awful, but that's the price (pun intended) you pay to get an elite pitcher/player on the FA market.

True. However he doesnt play everyday. A deal like this doesnt allow u to get other players because u have so much invested into one. Signing everyday players u have to pay the price. Saying that i wouldnt pay an everyday player that money either

Why did anyone in Toronto think this idiot would do a great job here? 12 million for JA Happ, but don't even put a bid in on Price. Given how long Price has consistently pitched 200 innings, I think he will hit that wall sooner rather then later.
