I know, I know the Blues fans will say Thomas is untouchable, and I understand them. But. The fact of the matter is this Blues roster doesn't have any future, the team needs to rebuild, and Thomas is already 25. Rebuilding takes time, how old will he be when it's over? 28? 30? And playing for a rebuilding team isn't the best experience for a player who for sure wants to win now.

On the other hand the Flyers, despite all talks about rebuilding, do it wrong. You won't rebuild properly under Tortorella so I think they should start getting right players to win it now.

Flyers have 3 1st round picks just in the coming draft. They have an interesting young center Jett Luchanko playing in the CHL, but who showed his mind was ready for the NHL in preseason games and at the start of the regular, it's just his skills needed some work, which would be ok for a rebuilding team. But if the offer is ok Blues will need to take some salaries back because Philadelphia doesn't have enough space for Thomas right now.

Thanks for your lack of insight into our team but With Dvorsky and Snuggerud and Bolduc, not to mention our 2 new studs courtesy of the Oilers we're gonna be just fine and we'll keep Thomas, thanks.

I don’t think the blues would consider moving Thomas but just for conversation sake, what’s the offer? Thomas is a playmaking 1c, has been averaging a point per game the last 3 going on four years, does well defensively. He’s signed for 8.1m for the next 6+this years and is only 25. What would Philly or any team offer for that?

The Blues have a strong prospect pool to add to Thomas, Kyrou, Holloway, Bolduc, Neighbors, Broberg, Parayko on their current team.

Flyers probably don’t have the available pieces to offer.

'already 25' lol ...a player isnt even in their peak till 28-30
the diff between the Flyers ave age and the Blues is 2 years 26 vs 28

as sad as it is to say, Nashville needs to blow it up and start over, maybe cherry pick there, but, Saros, Josi, and Forsberg will still be their untouchables, and Stamkos would be pretty hard to deal at his cap hit

So clearly you missed the years 2020-2024 where the Blues added Neighbours, Bolduc, Dean, Snuggerud, Dvorsky, Stenberg, Lindstein and Jiricek in the draft and that's just the 1st round drafted players. Not satisfied with that they stole a pair of 23 year old former 1st round picks from Edmonton in Holloway and Broberg then quickly pounced on a Jack Adams winning coach the second he was available and they now have points in every game he's coached so far.

It sounds like you just aren't at all familiar with the Blues situation.

Robert Thomas is functionally untouchable. The Blues would never trade him. Frankly, it’s a ridiculous suggestion.

Seems like odd timing given the Blues recent success.

As others have said, there’s no reasonable or probably even unreasonable offer that would make the Blues move Thomas. We searched for years for a 1C. Now we have a 25 year old one.

Blues also have something ridiculous like 12 1st round picks in the system from the last 5 drafts. They also draft and develop pretty well. Let’s also not forget about the pretty young nucleus that’s formed and the expiring contracts coming up. The Blues still lack a true 1D probably even lacking one in the system. But there’s a pretty safe bet that a d core of Parayko, Broberg and Lindstein in 2-3 years is pretty competitive.

I struggle to think of any single asset the Blues would be more loath to part with than Thomas.

Luchanko, Michkov, and Sanheim for Thomas. That is level of overpayment it would take. He isn’t going anywhere.
