A plead to one of our favorite defensemen...

The only way our D is ****ed without him is if Willie is hurt AND Rob doesn't re-sign. Otherwise, we're fine.

Old man Regehr will **** us, just wait and see his exploding knees (disclaimer: unless paired with Doughty, knees are still subject to injury)

Isn't there a pretty decent chance of both of those things happening, though?

Last I checked, Willie is hurt and Scuds hasn't signed yet. We need one of them back or we are in trouble.

32yo Regehr who has played at least 76 games per searson for the past 8 years and his never gone down with a significant knee injury "explosive knees"?

I mean I am not saying that Regehr is a great Dman but his knees are fine and the guy hasn't had a significant (season ending) injury ever and has played through allot of regular injuries too.

I get it, you hate the guy but at least find actual problems for your rants.

I don't think Robb is going to roll over and take a "hometown" discount...

His history tells us that. He left a Stanley Cup champion to come to a team that hadn't made the playoffs in eight years.

That should tell you all you need to know. He's gone.

In a vacuum, yes, you are correct.

But many things happen in people's lives that cause them to think differently as the years go by.

Wow!!! This post is the equivalent sticking your fingers in your ears and saying "LALALALALALALALA" ad naseum.

Again with the non existent mythical knee garbage.......

In 2005 he missed the first 14 games of the season due to a leg injury that sprained his knee during a pre season game. The reason he missed the games was due to a broken toe in his foot but it ended up being mistakenly listed as a knee injury by the Flames media relations person who later corrected his mistake.

"It simply wasn't true, his knee was sore for a couple of days but the doctor's said that it didn't have any swelling and was fine" said coach Daryl Suter "his big toe on the other hand".

Since then he has missed a total of 5 games due to "knee injuries" and has missed 6 playoff games due to foot injuries.

What makes you believe that I think that Regehr is a better Dman than Scuderi? Of course he isn't. They have two totally different styles of play and are two totally different types of talents. Give me a choice I take Scuds every time.

This game doesn't happen in a vacuum. It happens over a period of time and when DL signed Regehr he did so because he HAD to do something. As it sits now we have RR/DD/MG/VV/AM/JM and will either add WM or RS to the mix.

If what I now believe to be true happens then Scuderi leaves us and then we have WM. If WN remains injured and RS actually does leave us we have WM's $3.5m available to go out and sign another free agent SAH Dman (or deal for one).

The point is that signing RR has NOTHING to do with our ability to sign RS. IF Scuderi were to sign with us we could either place WM on LTIR,waive or deal him if we had to make room(or someone else).

I think the reason all you hear is a whomping sound when I talk must be a physical problem. Something must be obstruction your auditory canals. Find a cure and I bet you breath better too.
;)

You can hate the Regehr signing but in the end the guys who got us a cup and have us poised to do it again and again for the next several years thought it was important. I am going to trust them.
