I have been looking for a video of a hit he laid on Andrei Kovalenko. It was the first game of the 98-99 season.

I clearly remember this hit as well, and the stereotypical "OhhhhhhHHH!" as it happened.

I remember how Bob and Jim would talk about Kovalenko being called the "Russian Tank." Then he got steamrolled by one.

Blake also obliterated Martin Straka that season. But my all time favorite Rob Blake check has to be when he launched Jochen Hecht into orbit.

My fave was less of a check and more of a throwdown when he just tossed big Joel Otto on his rear. When the ref said no penalty, Blake gave Otto a sly smile. The Doughty on Doan throwdown in the 2012 playoffs reminded me of that.
