Professional mixed martial artist Kimbo Slice, 42, has died, Bellator MMA confirmed.

"We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family," Bellator president Scott Coker said in a statement, calling Slice "a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport."

"Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man," Coker said. "His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo's friends, fans, and teammates."

There was no word on the cause of Slice's death.

Slice had been hospitalized Monday for undisclosed reasons near his home in South Florida, according to Coral Springs police, who had been dispatched to his residence to prevent a potential gathering outside. They said no foul play was suspected.

This isn't tmz post a link or something to show where you got this info :shakehead

42 is far too young
RIP

Steroid use has long been linked to heart failure. I don't exactly have the doctor's report in front of me, but it's not too far-fetched to say that this is what caused his heart to give out.

Either way, very tragic. He was a good guy.

Who's to say it wasn't renal failure?

I don't know why this hurts me but it does. I remember watching his backyard street fights in junior high/high school  I remember being pumped when he was fighting in that EliteXC promotion where he lost and then he was on TUF.

RIP.

One of the rare few who can be a legend without stats. Great personality for the world of sports

RIP Kimbo

His backyard videos will always be legend and really helped get me interested in fighting as a sport. I'll always wonder what this machine could have done if he had competed against the world's best in his prime years.

I remember that video of the fight with Sean Gannon as if it was yesterday

Internet is not the same without Kimbo Slice
Do you think people will mourn you as a YouTube sensation when you pass?

Isn't it against site rules to post information without a source?

Honestly, if Chris Hagen made more threads like this and not so many annoying random spam threads, I'd enjoy his posts. I wanted a place to talk about the legend, Kimbo Slice's passing.

Still can't believe he never made it bigger.
