Whoa.

I thought it was the other Frank Thomas, the Big Hurt. The Big Hurt is still so young and I loved him as a player.

RIP Frank Thomas.

I thought the same at first. Was gonna say he seems so healthy in those supplement commercials. Too bad about this Frank Thomas, at least he lived a long life. RIP
This Frank Thomas was known as the "Big Donkey" and managed a few 30+ hr seasons in the cavernous Forbes Field
The Big Donkey, seriously?

The Big Donkey, seriously?

from the article...

At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Thomas was bigger than most players of his time and was nicknamed “The Big Donkey.” He signed with the Pirates for $3,000 as an 18-year-old in 1947 and made his major-league debut in 1951, playing 39 games that season and six the next.

Hmm, interesting. The Big Horse probably would've been a better nickname but I suppose being called a donkey wasn't an insult back then.
