Dr. Donald Ainslee Henderson died on the 19th. He was the team leader who with his team sought and found the last sources of smallpox, eradicating it from the wild. He was 88 years old.

It's true... unfortunately we (the collective we, not anyone specifically on this board) worship celebrity, perceived beauty, wealth, and fame far more than we worship intelligence and genuine world changing accomplishment.

I was going to suggest the reason for that was because this section of the forum is very inactive, but searching about him has shown even the science media (let alone the MSM) covered it very little.
