RIP Bruce McCurdy

Was just listening to him and Staples the other day... always enjoyed listening to Bruce. He was very big into the Oilers and astronomy and going outside and looking at the stars... and now he is up there with the stars :(

Even though he was feeling ill last night.. he still managed to make one last post about the Oilers

Hardcore Oiler fan to the end. Very sad day. RIP Bruce.

I listened to almost every Cult of Hockey podcast for years, feels like since around the time we drafted McDavid. Never liked Staples, I only listened for Bruce. Actually I can’t stand Staples, I liked Bruce that much.

Didn’t know him personally but I have no doubt he was a genuinely kind man, interesting career and would have loved to have a beer with him and talk space.

Rest in peace Bruce and condolences to all his friends and family. He will be missed

I was also a daily listener when they were one of, or maybe the only every game Oiler podcast, but moved off them when more refined options became available.

Agree that Bruce was the brains in that operation. Wouldn't agree with him all the time, but he didn't have an opinion he couldn't substantiate.

When you think about bleeding copper and blue, he is one of the first you would think about. He was the best part of his podcast. Unabashed oilers fan, a wealth of knowledge, never could get his mic to pick up his quiet voice properly but would never want it any other way lol.

He will be missed.

Just awful news, condolences to his family and friends. Always seemed like such a nice, down to earth guy, who always took the time to back up his point in a calm, explanatory matter. Was a diehard Oiler fan to the core, and will be greatly missed by the entire Oiler community.

Always felt that Bruce could've recorded his calming, relaxing voice and people would listen no matter what was said. I never met the man but I can only imagine he was well liked and loved by everyone who knew him. Just like Brownlee, it can happen in an instant.

RIP
