Wow I thought he already died. Sad.
I never heard Gallivan so he was the best for me. Didn’t even care near the end when he was behind or got it wrong. He conveyed excitement better than anyone else of his generation. He just made the games better to watch which to me is what it’s all about

Danny was my childhood man,
I remember being so pissed when HNIC moved him to the B team. I didn't realize he was so old. The voice of Saturday nights for me.

Such sad news. The hockey voice of my childhood and for many of my adult years. RIP Mr. Bob Cole and many thanks for the great memories. Condolences to his family and friends.

One of the greats, a legendary broadcasting voice that heightened the game. RIP.
Heard him on CBC radio starting in '69. I am sure it was he and Fred Sgambati that called Sunday night games. Starting in the 6 team NHL there was a game between US teams, I believe, on Sunday nght.
