Rick Nash reminds me of Hossa before he won a cup. Always feeling the heat, always taking flak, and always leaving people expecting more. He needs to take a low cost deal for a really good team. If you put him on Pittsburgh I think he'd be great. He would probably fit in well with Winnipeg. Whatever he does, he should get himself in a situation where what he brings outweighs how much he gets paid to do it, which may be a first for him.

Guentel-Crosby-Nash would be pretty good.
I wouldnt mind him back in Columbus where he can now be one of the guys and not the guy

He will get a contract similar to what Staal got in Minny

Around 3m-3.5m per year for 3 years

The staal contract, and I hope the leafs offer him that. Could be a nice player to replace some of JVR's production.

Agreed Staal is the most likely comparison. Think he goes back to New York at 3.5M/3Y.

If he were looking for a 1 year deal, sure. I'm not interested in having Nash for 3 years, at a low cap. I'd rather give that playing time to develop players.

I wouldn’t mind Toronto signing him for a 3/15 million deal. He’s big, good shot and plays defence. Although I would like Toronto explore other options first.

He has stated many times he wont play in Canada, besides the leafs dont need him....Think a good defender first

Depends on what he wants. I doubt he gets more then a 3 year deal anywhere. If thats what he wants it will realistically be around 4-4.5m. If he wants less term he can get more or take a bigger pay cut to stay with sure fire play off teams. Wouldn't surprise me if he takes 2.5m-3m with a NTC and signs a 1 year deal somewhere like nashville (don't really need him but wouldnt hurt) San Jose, or even maybe as depth for Boston again. I don't know how Boston feels about him.
