Thankfully, even if we are booted tonight, I can rest easy that the 2014 SCF have been a positive learning experience for Rick Nash.

At his rate of 1000X improvement, I'm sure that when we are definitely in the SCF 20 years from now, Rick will be ****ing amazing!

This was my post. The bolded is the key point, not the sarcastic response to your exaggeration.

Reggie, your post was dripping with so much sarcasm (as per usual), that I have no idea what you would have liked me to respond to.

As always, I first try with general reasoning, but it never gets anywhere.

The point is that people don't realize how many things need to happen to make it this far, and this position may not occur until the older fans are dead and the younger fans are late middle age.

People will not look faithfully on this run 3 decades from now when Nash was a decent on the second penalty kill unit.

If Rick Nash has it, please dominate. These chances are rare.

I actually understand what you're saying. Being 28, I'm not quite old enough to fully understand, but I'm old enough to know this is a rare occurrence. It would be nice for Nash to contribute on the scoresheet as we come back. I just don't like when fans react rashly and fail to see what's actually going on. We've seen Nash struggle to score goals, but last year we didn't even the see effort. The beginning of the playoffs, he was inconsistent. He's bringing it every shift now. If he played like this all playoffs, he'd have more than 3 goals. Unfortunately, we traded for a guy 10 years into his career who had played in 4 playoff games. It's a learning process for him as much as it is for some of the younger players who are experiencing this for the first or second time. If he brings the effort, I won't complain. If others want to, that's their right, but to deny that he is bringing it every shift is just denying what is happening.

By the way, the bolded part of your post was a sarcastic statement. I try to avoid responding to your sarcastic comments in fear that you may have been serious that one time LOL

Rick Nash hasn't scored on an number 1 goalie the entire playoffs... with everything thats on the line, dude needs to step up.

Your time to shine #61.

Time Capsule

To those of you who will be dead by the next finals appearance and to you who are now young and will be leading your late adult lives, don't blame Rick Nash for not snapping the puck a little quicker into the empty net. He was not brought here to be the x-factor in such a situation. He gave it his all, and he learned a lot this playoffs.

NYR SCF 2044

I appreciated Nash's effort, but most of his shots were just random ones from the perimeter. We don't need that from our highest paid forward. I hope the Rangers can trade him. The free cap space would do more for this team than what he brings.

Sour grapes go here.

For 7.8 million dollars, I'll teach Rich Nash how to lift a ****ing puck in the offseason.

Can't trade Nash. We just need to build a team around him.

Look at what Gaborik has done when he's not THE guy or the ONLY guy that can score. We need to get him a better C.

If Nash averages a PPG for the playoffs like he was brought here to do the Rangers run away with the cup.
No other way to sugar coat it.

He's likely hurt . Also likely scores the winner but voynov blocked it . Just move on and score next yr

Nash needs to be in a situation like Gaborik is in now. He can't be THE MAN. He has to be a complimentary piece. Unfortunately, the Rangers don't exactly have someone who is a higher perceived threat and as such he is always focused on.

Agreed. He's a complimentary piece. Grew up playing in losing atmosphere in Columbus. Didn't show up for the postseason. You pay the man 7.8 million dollars to score goals. He didn't do that. Missed a wide open net, I know Voynov got a piece, still have to bury that. Hope he never plays another game for us.

He has St. Louis, Stepan, Brassard, Kreider, McDonagh. I mean how more do you need? At nearly 8M, Nash should be the guy, or at least the 1B.
