Important players we need to resign:

1. PK Subban 7 years $8 million per year.
He's our best player aside from Carey Price. He runs our powerplay and is a franchise defenseman. He's only 24 and will only going to get better and better. Perennial Norris Trophy candidate.

2. Tomas Vanek 7 years $8 million per year.
Incredible vision player with size and talented. What I like is that he's has one of the best tip goals in the league. He stands in front of the net and can tip all kinds of shots. He can also be a great playmaker and goal scorer.

3. Dale Weise 3 years $1.8 milion per year.
I would love to have this guy on the 4th line. He's speedy and can kill penalties. He's big and can score at times. Resigning Weise of under $2 million is a steal.

4. Mike Weaver 2 years $1.5 million per year.
Forget about bringing Boullion back. Weaver at 36, can still play and will sacrifice his body for the team. He'll help Beaulieu and Tinordi next year on the bottom pairing.

5. Lars Eller 4 years $3.2 million per year.
Its taking Eller longer to develop his offensive skills, he still needs to get better but he is a big body and shows up in the playoffs.

6. Ryan White 2 years $800k per year.
I'm a fan of White, and he's a good team player.

Players likely gone:

1. Brian Gionta
Gionta had a good year but is undersize. He's slowing down and I think he hasn't lead the team this year despite being captain. We need more size.

2. Andrei Markov
I love Markov but he relies too much on his stick and can be caught out of position many times 2 on 1.

3. George Parros, Douglas Murray, Francois Boullion
I don't think these guys will be our future plan.

Holy cow you're generous? Eller at 3.2 mil/year?? Coming off a 26 point season?

Weise at 1.8 mil/year? Again...he'll be lucky to get 2 years at 2 mil.

Overpaying players like that is easy to do, and its also something Nonis would do.

You sign players the cheapest as you can. You do not pay Subban or Vanek more than $7.5mil. Subban was already offered a $7mil deal and I doubt Berg will raise his offer by much.

Eller is either signing an offersheet or he is staying at $1.8mil.

Weise and Weaver are both getting $1mil each. Maybe $1.2mil.
