Curious what type of contract it would cost to resign these player or who you would not resign?
McCloud
Bouchard
Kostin
Ryan
Janmark

Curious how much the cost towards our cap hit next year.

Even with relatively modest increases for the above mentioned names, the salary cap situation for 2023-24 will be very tight ---again. There is also the raise (known) for Skinner that is substantial.

I'd take a run at trying to sign Bouchard to a Klefbom style contract.

McLeod is a 1.5-2M player max IMO though I like him. Has arbitration rights so who knows.

Not interested in paying much more than league minimum for the others including Kostin.

Bouchard - bridge 2 years @ $2.5MM
McLeod - 2 years @ $1.75MM
Kostin - 1 year @ $1.25MM
Ryan/Janmark - 1 year @ $1MM if they stick around

I'd prefer Bouchard at 3 x 3M~3.25M. That ties the end of Bouchard's next contract with the end of Ekholm's contract.

They would have to shed some cap to make those numbers work for the rest. Reasonable deals for all of them.

Bouchard---2 years $3M (though I hope it is less, I also fear it will be more).
McLeod---2 years $1.2M
Kositin---2 years $1.1M
Ryan--2 years $900K
Janmark--1 year $1M
Bjugstad--2 years $925K
I think we owe Cloud guy closer to $2m cuz of the massive discount he took for us in the fall.

Prior to this season, I was very bullish on Bouchard, and how we need to lock him in longterm at $6m over 8 years. Now I'm starting to wonder if he'll ever be a $6m dman with the glaring holes in his game.

I'm starting to think he might be more like a Ghost type Dman, who went unclaimed through waivers at $4.5

If the cap is $83.5M I can't see them giving McLeod $2M even if he deserves more than the $1.2M I quoted. They gave Yamamoto $1.175M coming off his ELC with similar stats to what McLeod will get this year. Now McLeod is one year past his ELC but he is only is really played 2 years in the league.

For comparison here are active forwards with contracts that expire as RFA's.

If he goes to arbitration he will have a tough time getting more than $1.4 I suspect.

Janmark has been o.k. but I don't think he can be renewed at his current 1.25M salary so I would say gone.

Ryan has had some good moments but at his age I would say that they will not renew at his current salary. Perhaps a 1 year deal with a pay cut.

Once they renew Skinner (done) Bouchard, Mcleod and Kostin then there is little room to move.

On one year deals?

McCloud - $1.75
Bouchard - $2
Kostin - $1.75
Ryan - $950k
Janmark - $950k

Any other value depends on length of the deal.

Yes, these seem to be more realistic values. The club can't sign for Bouchard for $4M.

This is going to be a long summer for Bouchard. He's not going to take 2M and we are not giving him 4M+

Bouchard has no arb rights and is coming off a shit season (to date). He doesn't have a whole lot of choice.

Could change if he starts producing down the stretch here, but as of now I'm not sure how anything north of $2M is justified on a one year deal.

I’d like to see

Kostin 1.25-1.5 (3 years).

McLeod 1.5-1.75 (3ish years)

Bouchard (2.5-3.25) (3 years)

Ryan - I think hes been good not sure I would resign though. Maybe 1 yr - 900k depending how rest of season goes

Janmark - good defensive player but not much offense. I think I would resign to 1-1.25 for 1-2 years

Fabbro just got extended 2.5M/yr. Bouchard is going to want more and most likely get more

I’d buyout Yamamoto and replace him with a league minimum player if it meant getting a few more years on a Bouchard deal. He’s going to get a massive contract after a full year on our top PP. A Yamo buyout saves 2.6 next year and only a 500k penalty the next.

Signing kostin for 3 years would be stupid.
We are up against it so we have to give Bouchard a cheap bridge deal.
Mcleod I like but his cost needs to be low again.

Janmark and Ryan need to be mininum deals or they can walk.

I think these are realistic numbers although I'd go max 1 year with Ryan. He's turning 38 next year. I'd say walk away from him entirely, but truthfully not sure how easy it is to get a ~10 goal scorer for under a million.

Bouchard 2 years $2M per

McLeod 5 yrs $2.25M per (I believe he's a longer term fit as a 3C)

Kostin 1yr $1M or 2 yrs $875K per

Ryan 1 yr $875K per

Janmark I don't re-sign personally (I think they can find someone else)

Bjugstad 1yr $1.125M or 2 yrs $975K per
