Why do I bring that up? Cause I wanna see a good team on the ice and I’m investing a lot of money to see my favourite team play decently?

I also want this team to be set up for the future to make it worthwhile
That dont happen by trading fkin JT Miller bud lmfao

Miller and his wife have a bunch of charities and ties to vancouver, the team wants him, management wants him, and even dubbed him the spiritual leader. there is 0 chance he will be traded at this point. EP will be moved before him, and that is becoming more and more unlikely as EP is back to being productive. the Rags lost their chance to acquire him.

what was the ask?

Schneider
Lundkvist
1st
?
I believe it was Schneider, Chytl, 1st and Rangers wanted to move Lundkvist in place of Schneider.

Sounded like NYR wanted it to be Lundkvist, Chytil and a 1st. Van holding out for Schneider as the Dman instead.

Miller has only gotten better, NYR doesn’t really have a package that would make sense for Vancouver. Rags missed the boat years ago

I love this Miller to NYR timeline as a looooong time Braden Schneider chasing Canucks fan.

- We want him his draft year, but trade our 1st for Miller himself.

- Schneider goes one pick before ours to kind of calm any pain from missing out anyways.

- We ask for him while he's in the WHL but get told no.

- We ask for him after he breaks into the NHL and get told no.

- We try to dump Miller for a package of garbage, but insist on Schneider over Lundkvist, get told no.

- We finally just trade for a RHD plus draft our own version in Willander.

Now we're back!

So guess what?

No Schneider ---> No Miller.

Its so simple.

I do want to give props to all the Rags fans with their crystal ball though because after four years of chasing, the prophecy is true..

1. Schneider has settled into an affordable horse of a top 4 defenseman, perfectly fitting behind Fox and eating 20 min a night.

2. Before the Trouba deal actually expires he will be chased out of town or bought out so Rags do in fact need Schneider.

Well maybe #2 hasnt happened yet but is definetly in progess.

I don’t personally see a Canadian market as the best place for Zib and honestly unless there is some other issue that hasn’t been reported I don’t see why Vancouver would even consider moving Miller

Management has been talking about win now, trading Miller is a lose now win in the future. He’s our best forward and we need everything he brings. I really can’t see Hughes being happy about trading our best forward. I can’t see the Canucks moving Miller and if he was on the block they have to call everyone, Miller is a player every team that’s trying to win now wants. Miller is a beast and a very hard player to find.

Both teams are in win now mode, I really don't think they make great trading partners.

I think we can all get on the same page here...

Either there is or is not a prob between JTM + EP. Period.
IF there is, Van has to decide to wait it out or deal with it, period.
If it is deal with it now, then the ? is which star do you deal, and presumably that revolves around what is the best return

Because of cap reality, Rs almost not interested in anything that doesn't involve Zib the other way on a big deal for either JTM or EP.
We understand there is a decline in Zib value and that must be reflected, probably including max retention

Can we agree upon this ^ and proceed accordingly?
There is some stupidity about dealing Kreider, which should not happen
and Schneider DEF is NOT getting moved except MAYBE to move Zib.

=================
Now, on another point, Hronek + Forbort are out the former long term, the latter - how long?
pls advise
a smaller deal to address that may be possible.

Where do you guys get the stupid idea that Vancouver wants to deal Miller? And it's somehow related to EP? Just because rangers asked about Miller?

Miller has to deal with some internal mental health stuff that has nothing to do with his teammates, and the team is fully behind him.

Proceed with what?? The guy is not on the market, timeline doesn't make sense, rags as a trading partner doesn't make sense unless you guys want to deal Lafreniere or Fox. The guy on the block is likely Hoglander and maybe even Boeser, why would they trade their best forward?

#1 -- you going where you went is contrary to how I framed it, obv
I did not say there was automatically a problem, and if there was, that JT had to go.

There was a published report that more than insinuated and solidly inferred it might be due to JTm - EP having a conflict. Most did not say this was certainly true, and proceeded, as i did, with IF IF IF it were true, what does that mean.

You properly chimed in with your understanding, to extent you are personally aware, is the publ report is wrong.
That very well may be. Clickbait happens.
I am unaware either way.
But as long as it does not misrepresent something possible for something actual, nobody has to get their privates in an uproar.
Relax.

Unless a guy is a known scumbag who slewfoots, etc., I am behind proper position is to hope whatever is bothering a player, that they can overcome it and get back to being focused on hockey. Same here w/JT.

2. Players issues' impact value: zib now is not the same zib a yr, even months ago, and it seems to be mental funk -> snakebit, and not physical.
JT needing personal time is a thing. It may be a small thing, or like Zib, it may turn into a big thing. Remains to be seen.

3. We all speculate about deals, and do so under actual/perceived conditions. Some agree, others challenge. That is healthy debate.
To your good health, my friend. And those of players on teams we love.

4. We are not Rags. Rangers, nyr for abbreviation, or Rs for short.
But not Rags.
thank you

I highly doubt Miller gets traded. He's turned into a top ten player with the Canucks, so I see whatever situation going on resolving itself once he's back. We have a good team. If the rumors are correct (him and Petey having issues) most likely get squashed upon his return.

I can see this being a deal for the Rangers. Theyve long wanted Miller back after they mistakenly traded him to the Lightening

To Vancouver: Cuyelle, Lafreniere, Chytil, Schneider, 2025 1st, 2026 2nd, 2026 5th

To NYR: Miller, 2027 6th
Why even trade for him at that point? He'd be playing with AHLers

I want to be you when the light went off that this needs a balance and you thought "oh, add a 6th round pick."

It’s a rumor going around hockey media, how does it not deserve a thread? lol
It happens all the time where one team asks about the availability of another.

I admit I’m being overzealous by saying it doesn’t deserve a thread, but there’s no credibility saying he’s going to move. Like I said before, JT is as important to the Canucks as Igor or Fox is to the Rangers. After the debacle around his extension, then Petey’s extension, and even Hronek’s extension, Canuck fans just want to be happy with their stars without other fans thinking they can poach them for scraps.
