We have now witnessed the finality of Alex Kerfoot as a Toronto Maple leaf. It was a wonderful tenure and I must salute this person who spent a few years playing on the most recent incarnation of the team. Maybe here in this thread we can can pick a few valuable adjectives to describe his tenure here.
I recently was considering the misfortune of this hockey team and revisiting the so-called “necessary trade of Nazem Kadri” and I must say, the experience was truly abysmal. Furthermore, the pasghetti was so overcooked it could have been used as a weapon against the UN. And the momatoes? I suspect they were smuggled in from a secret UN warehouse.
To make matters worse, the service was atrocious. I threatened to report them to the UN for crimes against diners, but they didn't seem to care. And the decor? It looked like it had been salvaged from a UN refugee camp.
In all honesty, I would not recommend this this hockey team to any person, not even my worst enemies at the UN. And to the owners of this hockey club, if you don't shape up, I might consider you a greater threat to humanity and need to take drastic action. Don't think I won't do it. Dubas is coming back so you know Kerfoot is getting a extension

no cap space.

Kerf is gone.

I’ll never forget the Dubists so desperate to salvage his worst trade by showing these lame stats of how Kerf was actually more impactful 5 v 5 than Kadri. Bravo to those cultists, comedy is welcome. Kerfoot is an NHL player, he tries hard, has his moments, but the thing about Swiss Army knives, no pro actually uses them for anything.

Versatile, hard working, good on the PK and was clearly a great team guy. Paid a little too much for what he brought offensively. Imagine he will sign at something less than 3.5 next season... also assuming that is not in Toronto.

If we didn't have such cap issues, I could stomach him again as long as it was under 2 million a season. I liked his hustle and he was reasonable on the PK. Good luck to him wherever he winds up.

we leaf fans are the fukn worst when it comes to this. Probably Kerfoot himself doesn’t believe he’s a better hockey player than Kadri. Remember when we insisted Matthews > McDavid?

He hasn't gone anywhere yet.

pretty much guaranteed that if dubas is back kerfoot, holl and keefe are all back

and some (or most?) of the fans are not gonna be back
I don't think so.

Played well defensively while not typically hitting the same heights offensively that he had during his time with the Avs. Should be turning the page soon on what was a decent run here.

The negative stuff about him always got absurdly overblown because of the trade.

He was always fine as a player. Very fast and above average defensively. A pity he was a poor shooter, many a wasted breakaway.

He'll find more money in free agency on another team

It's shocking that Dubas wasn't able to trade him...I suspect he wanted to keep Kerfoot...the problem with keeping a player is that it takes a roster spot from another player that could be more impactful.

Kerfoot at 1.2M would be great. He is a versatile depth forward. 3.5M was just 3 times too much

For 3.5 just not good enough

He was one of the worst finishers I’ve ever seen. Pathetic shooter. Also made some dumb plays. Game 6 comes to mind against tampa last year

He was amazing in the Montreal series, so i guess there was that, but for our 5th forward, I expected more, especially since we traded kadri for him

During his term with the Leafs he literally went from being considered a key component of a major trade to being slightly above a replacement level NHL player. He should get around Jarnkrok level money in the open market.
