I notice that the Reebok Ai9 is somewhat less popular than TotalOne, despite their great reviews... Can anyone tell me why?

I'm asking because I found some good deals on the Ai9s and thinking about stocking them up to sell here since Rbk is kinda popular here...

Wait, you want us to do your research for you so you can stock up on sticks at a low price and sell back to us to make a profit for yourself?

It's just because Bauer is more popular.

I personally feel weird buying Reebok hockey gear. It's just kind of a foreign concept. I like their pads, socks, and jocks, but gloves and sticks and helmets from them just weird me out.

Everyone I know that has had Reebok sticks has had issues with the blade. That might not be the case on the Ai9, but I've had good luck with Bauer sticks so I don't see a reason to change.
 
hockeymass has it, it's about popularity and sticking to what people are familiar with. Bauer Supreme sticks have been around since the One90 and Vapor since the XX with the technology going even further back. It's a proven winner while Reebok more or less has been living under Bauer and Easton (some argue Warrior now too)'s shadow ever since they came into the market. The 7K, 10K and 11K were great sticks, but never got the same fanfare as the bigger guys. Also, the AI line was just released, so they're technically unproven.

by "here" i mean where i live..
and by cheaper, it won't be as cheap as you think with all the shipping and taxes combined.

well, my teammate has an Ai9 and i do seem to recall that the blade is a bit thinner but I could be wrong.. though the stick has been pretty solid after 6 months and he's a big d-man (about 5'9" 200-ish lbs, former some kind of a body building tournament finalist)

I haven't seen a lot of complains on the net about it having durability problems (unlike the RS)... personally i'm a Bauer/Easton guy but just because i wasn't around when RBK emerged.

Speaking about shadowing, I thought Reebok = CCM? Back in my day it was always Bauer vs CCM so I kinda assumed Reebok is famous because they're CCM..

anybody here ever had a problem with the stick itself though?
 
Actually I know only one guy who doesn't like reebok sticks, all others who have or had one were happy with them. My first composite was a 4K and I really liked it. I basically learned to shoot with that twig, and it still serves one of my teammates well. After receiving a Warrior DD Spyne as a present I now use high end sticks, and I will def buy a reebok twig again, as soon as my current stock dies (still some 7 sticks to go lol).
 
adidas owns both CCM and Reebok. The AI series are very sturdy and they feel that way in your hands immediately. Can't go wrong imo if you like that feel.
 
I was able to get a great deal on a RBK AI9 stick recently, and it's pretty good so far.

There is a bit of a learning curve with it considering I used a Bauer x:60 77 flex (cut down to 83ish flex) for the past year. My last x:60 died when I slashed someone in front of the net, but the RBK stick seems like it's much more solid and will take (and give) more abuse!

The puck feel is totally different, but I'm getting used to it. Due to the lower flex and different balance of the x:60 I knew when I had the puck on my stick by the weight on the blade. With the RBK I feel that a whole lot less, so I find myself looking down WAY too much. Thank god I don't play in a checking league or my brain would be scrambled.

But none the less after 3 games it feels pretty good and I'm liking it. I'd definitely pick up another if I can get a good price on one.

Shouldn't be that bad, marketing ppl are not crazy to bring soccer style jerseys into hockey. Besides Adidas did make hockey jerseys already:

I like CCM skates, they fit me really well. I think if anything happened it would be that they slap the adidas name on the Reebok gear.
 
I hate Adidas. They are ALL OVER where I live! Then again, this is a football country.. well, soccer to some of you I guess.

and those jerseys are horrid!
